I may be getting rid of my TV again soon. It seems to default to Channel 4, and I can see the carcrash attraction to Big Brother, and can also see the need NOT TO GO THERE.

There are currently people, on my telly, in my house, arguing incoherently about what they'll be having for breakfast weeks hence. Logie Baird must be so proud.

There's other stuff to watch, Stoatie. Me, I'm quite liking BBC Four at the moment (although, obv, you need to spend a little extra cash to get it), given that it's more or less exactly what both BBC2 and Channel 4 were supposed to be when they started up.

Yeah, I'm not gona be paying cash to watch TV seeing as how I only tend to do it by accident anyway. Now, the day they start charging for Radio 4 is the day I start worrying... (The no-TV thing is not so much an ethical stance as an acknowledgment of the fact that I really find it hard to watch the same thing at the same time every week- I'm making an extra-special effort for Doctor Who- and that it's also easy to sit and watch loads of stuff I hate just because it happens to be on... just thought I'd make that clear)

Retsina. Oh, suedey, you have to try it. It’s fresh, fresh like toilet cleaner, but in a lovely way. I mean, it predates modern toilet cleaning products by about a gazillion years. Toilet cleaner might even have been designed to give your toilet the fresh, clear, piney, clean scent of a lovely cool glass of retsina on a summer’s evening.

So. Twin Peaks turned up on my computer a couple of days ago. All of it. I’ve been immersed since then, I’m currently about halfway thru season 2: it’s been a pretty intense, shut-in kind of a bank holiday weekend. And I'm told it's been mostly sunny outside. But I'll do anything for an excuse to REVIVE! a long-dead barb thread.

God, loving Bobby Briggs and the rebellious way he lopes around.
