You know you want to.

Oh, all right then. Just got back from ghadis's wedding- which was ace. I've now changed out of my tuxedo (yes!) into comfy combats and am about to find out whether my viseo-fu extended to being able to record Doctor Who.

How's y'self?

Suedey! SHOT FOR MEAT!
23:11 / 28.05.05
Excellent! A fine wedding, I hope? Wait, that's possibly a very silly thing to say. I dunno, I guess I don't have a lot of wedding experience. But I hope it was extra specially amazingly good all round, and all that. Oh, you said it was ace. Duh.

It's the rum. I've been drinking rum, it's been a really nothing day, in a nice way. A basking sort of way.

Who was good, the more I think about it, the more it seems good. I hope your video-fu was up to the task! And if so: enjoy!

Rewinding the tape now... the timing was obviously right... now did I get the right channel?

Oh, the suspense!

Hello chillun. I'm sitting up because I'm waiting to call my girl, and because I'm a student and I sit up every night. Nice to ee I'm not the only one.

23:19 / 28.05.05
YES! YES! I GOT TEE RIGHT CHANNEL AND THE RIGHT TIME AND EVERYTHING!!! As long as it doesn't cut out just before the end (in case you hadn't gathered, I'm a bit shit with technology).

Evening, kapok!

Here goes... oooweeeeoooo...

Suedey! SHOT FOR MEAT!
23:27 / 28.05.05
Allo Kapok!

Video machines are complex beasts, Stoat. I think everybody knows that by now. Even after getting it right I still approach it with some trepidation, as I firmly believe thay may in fact change the procedure each time. Just to fuck with people. I generally only suceed through sheer time and effort, although having said that I haven't been able to set the clock on my video after the last power cut. I say last power cut, but it may have been three years ago, I cannot say.

JOY NO WRY
23:30 / 28.05.05
Setting the clock is easy, all it takes is desperation. After a few days of the green flashing, flashing green flashing the 'button-smashing/wrenching-enraged-fit' technique works a charm.

Just don't expect the right time.

Suedey! SHOT FOR MEAT!
23:33 / 28.05.05
I know I knew how to do it once... now... I... maybe I shouldn't say... but I just feel like I've lost the desire.

...

I JUST DONT CARE IF THE CLOCK ON MY VIDEO IS SET RIGHT! THERE, I SAID IT! FUCK YOU VIDEO!

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
23:38 / 28.05.05
Just this once, IT ACTUALLY WORKED!!!

And this is a great episode. I have the chills.

Don't have a video clock, but I quite like keeping all the clocks in my flat set to the wrong time. The clock on my desk is always 15-odd minutes slow, the one on my computer is 6 minutes fast for some bizarroid reason. And the one on the wall in the living room is an hour behind the rest of Britain, because I’ve decided BST won’t be happening in my living room this year.

It’s nice, though - I kinda automatically compensate when I’m reading the time, but anyone who visits hasn’t got a clue. It’s the kind of fiendish and oddball home arrangements I’d expect from a villain in some 70s Flash comic. The Clock Master - he CONTROLS TIME with his slow-running clocks! But only in his flat. He has to invite Flash ‘round for tea in order to defeat him.

(...er, that post the result of reading a big pile of Flash comics from 1980 today, if you hadn’t already guessed.)

Hellloooooo.

But I thought TV was our foe! With the mind control and the media manipulation of our subconscious and...

I'm the only one that dumped my TV, aren't I?

You can't see me, but I am making the loser sign with one hand and the wanker sing with the other. I look like a lobster on crack.

Thanks for the TV, though.

Perhaps some spoiler warnings on your first post, Haus? Now I know it’s the huggles that save the world. I’m currently sitting around and waiting for my weekly Dr Who. Waiting for my brother to send it to me with his Computer- POWER.

There's been a fair bit of squeeing around the place, though, so I already know it's a good one. I love that feeling. Almost as good as when the first ooooo-eee-ooo pipes up.

Tonight's episode absolutely fucking RULED.

Haus- dancin'-wise, the Doc's got nowt on you.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK

kapok- I, too, dumped my TV. Then I bought an Xbox and needed something to play it on. THEN Doctor Who started so I had to buy an aerial. Bum. There go MY principles. Naught but a tuppenny whore, that's me.

Couldn't afford an Xbox, me. Maybe next generation my ideals will melt in the face of high-performance graphics.

You know what I miss most? The

buuuuuuuuuum,
bum-pum buuuuum, bumpumbum (buuuuum bumpumbum),
doo dooooooo, dooodle-oo-doo,
dooooooo dooodle-oo,
duh-dooooo,
duddle-oo,
duddle-wudddley-wudddley-wudddley-wudddley-wudddleyohh

of all the old versions of the theme tune. It's just not the same without that.

Suedey! SHOT FOR MEAT!
00:25 / 29.05.05
I'd quite like to hear you sing that.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
00:27 / 29.05.05
Specially if Haus dances to it.

Suedey! SHOT FOR MEAT!
00:27 / 29.05.05
And you change all the words to "bum".

Spatula Clarke
00:28 / 29.05.05
You just did! I missed a

boom-poom buddah-boom

off the end, though.

Suedey! SHOT FOR MEAT!
00:30 / 29.05.05
You mean "buuum-buuuuuum bummer bum"?!

I'm starting to feel ashamed, yet I'm still laughing.

RUM: DON'T DO IT KIDS.

Bed Head
00:30 / 29.05.05
Woo. I’ve got a whole album of Dr Who music. With a groovy cover with ALL FIVE doctors, and all the incidental music from Season 18-19 (Nyssa’s theme! Cyberman Attack! etc) and the original Delia D main theme. And the shoddy 1980 update, too.

I got it out a few weeks ago. I’ve been playing it pretty regularly. It sounds ludicrous, but feels right.

ONLY NICE THINGS
00:30 / 29.05.05
I saw the Dr. Who movies at the Riverside Studios last weekend - the 60s ones with Peter Cushing,. They didn't have the Delia Derbyshire theme music, going instead for crappy bumpity jazz. It made the whole thing feel massively less like Dr Who...mind you, so did the presence of Roy Castle KILL.

Spatula Clarke
00:34 / 29.05.05
You know the other thing I miss? Having the Doctor's face wink at me in all of three frames of animation during the opening credits, like a paedophile with a strobe light.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
00:42 / 29.05.05
Spatula- there're places you can go, I'm sure!!!

Bed Head- someone's supposed to be burning me that very thing in the next few days... and I can't fucking wait, I have to say!
