I fucking hate figs.

Except in figgy pudding, obviously.

I call dibs on Lateshift! It's mine! Mine!

And I LIKE FIGS!!!

It's a figgy lateshift. Don't go until you get some!

Figtastic.

hmmm.... the corner store just closed. Would Grandma's Chocolate, Peanut butter, Coconut Balls do? They are homemade.

And the first to talk about my Grandma's dessert in a South Park manner gets a kicking.

Damn, I'm having one of those nights where you think "I should really get to bed" and then it's suddenly three hours later and it's easier just to stay up.

So, who's still around?

I'm about, since I'm doing last minute changes to a new site in the background. Trying to make a 16 x 16 pixel img that looks good is a bitch. It goes up Monday though and I'm happy, as it's getting a bit old and it's nice to get paid.

How're things in your neck of the woods?

Well, it's pretty quiet, but then it would be, wouldn't it. I'm just brushing up on my multi-tasking: browsing, typing, listening to music, reading, watching old Daria episodes, downloading various stuff.
In other words, nothing useful.

Ooh, ooh, Daria? Do you have it on dvd by any chance? Because I'd really love to get a dvd of Daria, she rocks and so does her sick sad world.

I'm about...trying to finish marking a pile of assignments but the figs and barbelith are a much more entertaining, although less constructive, way to pass the time.

*gasp* You don’t mean that was a mistake, surely? I thought we were having fun, here.

We are having fun...although because I've doled out twice the alloted amount, there'll be less fun tomorrow.

Maybe tomorrow I'll wanna settle down...

Celeb big brother! Then Jump Britain and then 2 Alias episodes - TV Joy.

I'm looking forward to that Jump Britain programme. Le Parkeeur is just too cool.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
19:42 / 06.01.05
No TV, unfortunately... cos that Jump Britain looks wicked.
I think I'm gonna dig in and watch some Millennium on DVD, cos strangely enough nothing cheers up a grumpy stoat more than a few hits of doomy eschatological angst...

Never really watched that but it's good to have a backup for the future.

I just turned over to 5 and Big Trouble in Little China is on, all we need now is Karate Kid on ITV and it's the best schedule ever.

Oh man, I was laughing my ass off at Little Britan. Funny, funny show.

Anyway, happy Lateshift to all.

Aw, bear, you GOTTA watch Millennium! I know I always say this about my current obsession, but it really is my favourite TV series ever, watching it all over again (seeing as how I missed most of them when they were actually on). Serial killers, the impending apocalypse, visions of the Virgin Mary, Gnostics, Nazis, the Four Horsemen, LANCE FUCKING HENRIKSEN and THE INTENSELY CUTE LADY FROM SPACE:ABOVE AND BEYOND and a soundtrack with a tendency for Patti Smith...
It rules.

No TV, and my new DVD drive is still awaiting installation. But goddammit, I *love* In Our Time. It makes my brain glow, listening to the clever people. And who’d ever have guessed Melvyn Bragg could be so cool?

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
20:05 / 06.01.05
I WOULD'VE just been grooving on IOT, but I heard it this morning, so this time round it was just a bit "blah..."

But yes, Melvyn is WAY cooler than he has any right to be. And he always sounds like such a nice bloke on that show, too, like you'd want to invite him round for dinner and a chat.

Bed Head
20:06 / 06.01.05
Nice hair, too. Dinner and a chat and a ruffle of his hair.

Ooh, ooh, ooh, just popped in to say hello and am now instantly going. Jump Britain! Thanks Bearo!

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK

I think he'd probably be cool to have a cigar and brandy with after the meal, too.

Late shift this!

I'm going to see how long I can go without sleep, then I'm going to play pro evolution soccer with my much missed house mate, then I'm going to read for a bit, and no doubt dip into Barb, then tomorrow I'm going to get three rolls of film developed and see exactly how bad I am at photography.

Maybe - I think the housemate thing is going to change as I can hear him talking to his on off girlfriend on the phone, and he may be snatched away to do her bidding.

I am from a long line of cockneys, but I have no accent.

[Begin somewhat now offtopicness]

Ghadis on the other page: ...Figs stuck in a long sticky plastic container that comes with a long plastic trident like instrument for eating the sticky figs that never come out the sticky plastic box anyway...

Do you perhaps mean 'Eat Me' dates?

[End somewhat now off topicness]

*And disappears because Jump Britain is back on again.*

"Eat Me" dates... I'm not even gonna touch that one with a pointy stick.

Grr. I've just remembered (I keep remembering this every twenty minutes or so) I have to work tomorrow. DURING THE DAY. I have to get up IN THE MORNING AND GO TO WORK, THEN WORK ALL DAY THEN GO HOME AGAIN IN THE EVENING. That's wrong.
I've been working nights for getting on five years, and working days just seems so fucking wrong I keep forgetting I have to do it tomorrow.
I mean, there'll be other people on the bus, and everything!
That's just so fucked.

Papess

That is quite a switch, Stoatie. I love working nights too. Unfortunately, it doesn't love me so much anymore. Children plus nightwork is exhausting. I have to do things this way thouggh, or else I would never see my son.

I often get on the train in the morning and wish I was going home to sleep. Sleep, precious sleep. So instead I just hope that I don't see anyone I know and have to speak to them (occasionally I hide). Train dozing is definitely a plus point of public transport. Automated car anyone?

Hail lateshift! Just weaving by and I thought I'd say hello.
Drinking hot Ribena, mourning the loss of my Christmas tree and watching Celeb BB.
However, I fear I have little to contribute to the banter since I've never seen Millenium, believe Mervyn Bragg to be a cunt, never use public transport when I'm tired, and my only date-based anecdote is tedious.
Is it possible to kill the lateshift before 1am?
