Oh ok.
I've said I was leaving the thread but my previous posts keep getting involved.
This could take a while so pull up a chair, get comfy and.....I'll try and be quick. (somehow)
Quote 1 :
Neon, will you actually not be posting in this thread again?
Or is this simply another ruse, to sell the Archons a dummy or whatever?
Well never again am I going to say I'm leaving a thread, so there's another new thing I've learned today. As for Archons........I'm getting bored of Archons. Maybe if I see one my interest will be stoked.
Quote 2 :
Neon shade is this you?
Yes it is me, and it's you aswell, or part of us. HA! I just did the wierdest laugh unlike any I've ever done before after typing that anal sentence. It was like some sort of twisted cackle that was also a genuine giggle. This is fun. (kind of)
Quote 3 :
Would it be pointless, cruel, inflammatory or funny to point out that NIN originally came from the hard beat/EBM/new beat side of the industrial dance spectrum?
Not at all. I don't even know their earlier stuff apart from Head Like A Hole, I just love the Fragile album and thought I'd mention it because I see it as futuristic in a way, or a progression of Rock. I think Trent used Protools with a lot of that album and a lot of it is done with electronic effects, track layered on track of different sounds that I think really enhance the songs and make it sound futuristic. Anyway.......
Quote 4 :
Neon Shade, do you actually like music at all?
I'm not sure really.
I've been listening to all your points & it's nice to c that you all share my opinion that ROCK music is DEAD.
ps: Smell My Finger
it's your mum!
I love it. And the first music that I really got into believe it or not was hardcore rave. I loved the stuff for years. Then house/dance, then rock, then liked dance again aswell as Rock.
Mummy.
Quote 5 :
But what about Photek, of whom some people here may not have heard? He is even more futuristic, and he is dance!
Maybe he is, but I think that some types of Rock and Dance share a place alongside eachother, no matter what the year. Maybe I'm just fucking insane, but it's a genuine belief of mine.
Quote 6 :
This is probably the funniest post I've ever read, and more evidence for my argument that Rock Is Dead.
It's my argument, you see. Mine and mine alone.
Well at least I made you laugh Seth. The band I should have probably mentioned is Primal Scream. They mix Rock and Dance brilliantly. I think there's even a song called 96 tears (don't know if it's a cover or not) that even sounds like hardcore. XTRMNTR, Screamadelica and Vanishing Point are good examples of albums for that stuff, and maybe even more.
Anyway, my tea's ready.
This thread is still fucking mad you know. When it comes down to it I'll be honest and say that I haven't got a clue, but that I genuinely don't think that Rock will ever die, and aren't the least bit worried about saying that.
Cue this thread getting bumped and me being a 25 year old Grandad again, but SFW.
None of us have one bit of a fucking clue what's going to happen so it's all pointless anyway. I'm baffled because I'm dying to find out, and if it survives Harrison I'll run around in the afterlife annoying you and pointing and laughing at you for hundreds upon hundreds of years.
Now it's time for cold tea. |
