I suppose that I'm a bad person because while I wait for Torchwood Season 1 to download on uTorrent -- which will take several days, it seems -- I'm tempted to start writing my own version of it based solely on the basic premise (sci-fi cop show where everybody's bi!) and a few sketchy Wikipedia derived details.

Go for it. Just make sure that everybody's characterised completely differently every week and that you make the audience cringe with embarrassment at least once per episode.

Is the narrator in "I Heard it Through the Grapevine" being unnecessarily paranoid or is his girlfriend actually cheating on him?

I was gonna post this in the Miserable thread,bu then i saw the other stories in there and decided this is just not up to that place, but:

I have 70 pages to translate until tomorrow. About 20 hours straight, a liter and a half of coffee, and the hundredth time I play "Godzilla" by Blue Oyster Cult in my iPod later, I'm still about only two fifths of the way through.

GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Kylie as the absinthe fairy? Yeah, well, ok. Jimmy Somerville as the falsetto Angel of Androgyny? Truly crack-tastic.

AC Milan's goalie tonight looks like Joe Dallesandro.

And nowadays Pippo Inzaghi looks a bit like Brett Anderson.

Things were clearly started in motion already when as a child of nought but 5 years old, I chose to wear the costume of the Pierot to a children’s fancy dress party, rather than the Transformers and Ghostbusters of my peers.

What, both of them?

Why both?

edit: Shouldn´t there be four?

Also, "What, broth of them?" would also have worked. (I had too much sugar tonight...)

Nah, we were awful busy making fun of Torchwood (a show I enjoy and he does not).

On the other hand, I did survive a tornado hitting my neighborhood.

That does suck, but at least not as much as it could suck. And an excellent reason to be away for a while. With a little luck, and lots of positive thinking, a great new beginning will come from that. Like regenerating.

Anyway, I'm happy to hear from you again.

Thinking about you, Kali. Hope you're getting some back-up from people who can help.

Random thought of the hour: Barbelith spends a decent chunk of time thinking about whether or not the Doctor makes us moisten our collective tights. It's sort of wonderful.

Over time, the possibily of, after one quoting Tolkien, someone else quoting C.S. Lewis right back, increases to 100%.

It's kind of funny being the person who argues for the validity of the scientific method in Thread A, and the validity of direct contact with Odin in Thread B. I experience absolutely no contradiction whatsoever between my firm support for Darwinian evolution and my equally firm but rather different belief in dragons and fairies.

Sometimes I love my life. This is one of those times.

Dead Megatron
22:45 / 15.04.08
And I bet you know how to apply A to B when needed, as well.
