Stoats! Dude! I was just regaling Barbeloids with tales of the holographic Eddie "the Eagle" Edwards. Indeed, I wish to dedicate that conversation to our shynchronised diving silver medallists.

Because, you know, you're not a great diver, and then you are climbing up to dive after all the actually good divers, and another diver is climbing up to dive at the same time , and you think fuck you. You think you're good enough to dive in front of me? Then why didn't you dive with the actually able divers. Screw you. I'm gonna dive right the Hell now, like it or not.

And then you dive and he dives and suddenly it's like the first time you heard that Brian May riff as war Rocket Ajax headed for Ming the Merciless' city, and as you hit the water you realise that this is right. This is good. This is what you were missing.

Evening! Ah, the holographic "Eagle". I've been evangelising like mad around the office, trying to get everyone to listen to Hatebeak. Now most of them have, and most of them think Hatebeak are shit.

How can you think Hatebeak are shit?

they're a death metal band with a FUCKING PARROT ON VOCALS, for fuck's sake!!! A PARROT!!! Do you see?

G'Evening.

That's pretty funny, about the parrot.

You'd think the vocals would get pretty repetitive. Perhaps they have more than one parrot? Do they dress like pirates?

The mighty Hatebeak!!! \m/

I've wanted to hear these fuckers for ages. Soulseek is my friend. Iespecially love the fact that the parrot's scared of loud noises. Oh, and that one of the band wears a Coil T-shirt.

HATEBEAK ROCK!!!

I haven't even heard their music, I just love the idea. I think it's really quite brilliant.

I say, here's fun - let's amend song titles so that they have an avian bent, such as 'Johnny B Goode' amended to 'Johnny Beak Goode'. Joy!

Haus, I oughta tell you that Toil might be breaking up. I know you'll be devastated to read this, but I just got an email from Gavin that included the following photo with the words "It's no use, I can't compete with that in terms of comedy."

How is everyone?

Marvellous. Last night of the shift, looking forward to guilt-free pub fun in the morning... and it's St Rock's Day to boot!

Very strange indeed.

I feel feverish but I'm not sick
I feel sunburnt but I've been inside all day.
But most of all, I feel that Kittens and Centipedes would make a great album title.

Hey Czernobog, what's on your agenda this evening?

A solid hour of Adult Swim's little fifteen minute original programming Mcnuggets. Sumptuous unto the utmost. I like my madness with a side of FIST!

Aparently not much beside that however so I'm probably going to be making some headway in Mona Lisa Overdrive tonight.

Y'know, I'm not sure if I understood much of the former post; however, the latter is clear. Mmm, Mona Lisa Overdrive, that's a good one. At least, I recall enjoying it at the time I read it. I haven't read much of Gibson's later work--only Virtual Light.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK

Personally, I think prose-wise at least Gibson's been continually getting better. All Tomorrow's Parties at times reads like a minimalist Iain Sinclair, if you can imagine such a thing.

Bastard Tweed
02:58 / 16.08.04
Whenever you hear people talking about Sealab 2021, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, or Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law then they're talking about the Adult Swim original programming on Cartoon Network which, rather ingeniously in my opinion, comes in fifteen minute episodes rather than the traditional thirty. It's the kind of surreal and asurd humour they only dare to use when they expect the majority of their audience to be stoned college students.

Yeah, Gibson. I like him quite a bit but I confess I'm mostly reading it because I recently got a job on the writing team for a prospective cyberpunk series and feel like I ought to broaden my vocabulary a bit.
