Were you working in the New Testament, gingerbop?

You know, I was actually raised strict atheist, with the whole exempted-from-school-assembly deal, so the only Jesus I’m at all familiar with is the skinny guy from the Jesus Christ Superstar movie. And, skillfully blending two barbe-conversations into one here, my favourite bit from that is where Jesus gets the ointment rubbed into his feet, while Mary Magdalene sings ‘Everything’s alright’, and Judas glowers in that broody, sexy way that Jesus loves so much.

Nipter= religious foot-washing. Drunken games of Balderdash have taught me so.

Yep, BH, you pretty much got it in one. I did have to get the occasional person a life jacket and hold them in position when they were waiting for the rope to go taught before they waterskied, and then take their money off them afterwards.
Im not sure if I might go back and do it again this summer. It wasnt as if I was getting paid huge amounts or anything, and basically I could earn a week of greek wages in a day and a half at home. That is, if I had a job. And it was horribly hot and sticky, but if I could rope someone into coming out with me, it may be much more enjoyable than last summer, spent in our house with no bedrooms, with my parents who dont like the air conditioning on at night, and with me, overheating and with flowing flegm and glandular fever.

What I don't expect is to come home at nearly 00:30 and see nobody awake! Where's the honor among the modern ninja?

I'm up, and will be for a while. Day time approaches to the Krispy Kreme that opened Tuesday have failed, so I will be attempting a 1 am approach on the drive thru. Wish me luck.

The night is young.

You know, I havent visited Noahs clock recently, Bear. I think it may be getting lonely, unless you went to see it on your secret visit to inverness?

And Maz, because you most likely dont know about this, its a big evil clock in the shopping centre that Bear likes. I hate it, cause my mum told me that when it went off (it sings and the animals and Noah dance and go fishing) that it meant I couldnt go into the toyshop.
Bitch.

I'm here, but by God I'm cold - may crawl off to bed soonish, if only to regain feeling in my fingers. I've had three "I ought to get in earlier" nights in a row - one with Barbeloids, one with ex-workmate, one with current workmate. Am a bit hacked off that I have to get up early tomorrow to pay library fine (£13! I got home today to find four letters from the library piled neatly on my doorstep, having renewed them by phone on Thursday - slackers) and pick up Amazon package (delivered to home whiel Iw as at work, relocated to fucking Woolwich, eventual compromise on a nearby post office).

Still, it's not all that bad, really. How's everyone?

I will be doing much the same tomorrow, minus £13 of library fines. Only because I havent got round to collecting my card yet.

I wish you wouldn't tell people about me secret clock love.... you know I was considering coming to try and find you at the centre bop but I thought that would have been too weird... and I couldn't remember where you worked, arnotts or what every women wants or something....it wasn't really a social visit home but I'm coming home soon enough and there will be a teuchter (sp!) meet

Yup, it was Arnotts, but it closed last month.
*sniff*

Haus- that hedgehog is too cute, it made me burble.

I think everyone needs to know about your clock-love, bear; I mean, what if you go on a barbemeet, and you take a sudden liking for someone elses clock. Next thing they know, aunt Bessie's heirloom is gone, and Mr Noah is feeling very jealous. I just cant risk that scale of upset.

my love of clock is famous in certain circles in London... I think I have to go to sleep I just watched the latest episode of Angel and although the script was the clunkiest in some places it was good but I think it lasted around 4 hours... 1 episode of Seinfeld and sleep but I can sleep well knowing that when I wake up I will have a DVD quality version of Mankind V's Undertaker Hell in the Cell.... I have a pocket full of Smirnoff Black....

But there's the rub.....

Is it just me, or is Barbelith feeling a little heavy tonight?

Oh. I forgot to announce that I am poker queen. I went out with £3, and came back with £3.41. Watch out, Vegas.

Where's Keggers tonight? And Bedhead? Is that, perhaps, why is all seeming a bit gloomy?

Is it gloomy? There's a nit of angst going on in Policy, but it's not that bad, surely? And it is, after all, awfy late...

In fact, I think I'm going under. Night all.

Well, it's Saturday, and I still haven't gotten my damned donuts. On one hand, this is due to a lack of willingness to wait in a very very long line to get them, which means I am perhaps not committed enough, but as we keep saying "they're just donuts". However, we did buy a couch, so that's a good.

Hopefully tonight will see me fatter with donuts, though I think I'll have to wait till one or two before I'll make the attempt.

How's everyone else's weekend going?

Sober on a Saturday which is becoming the norm, just a couple of beers and watching some downloads... was wrecked last night though, walking home soaked in booze in the freezing cold isn't the best idea in the world...

Went out for dinner in a noodle bar tonight, was really nice... just about to watch something, not sure what yet...

The Angel episode was the one after the muppet one Haus, muppet one was cool and I think the ep last night was better than I can remember... will have to give it another watch...

Might have to move again, I think I might just admit defeat and buy a caravan...

At work with a sore throat (and left my lunch on the bus like a total spacker) but I've been cheered up by Flowers posting the wedding photos on the board. I look funny in a hat.

It's more my shoulder than my elbow...

I've just watched the first 4 episodes of Angel series 4 vol 2 (Calvary to Orpheus), and am feeling all geeky-warm. I'm hoping to watch the rest fairly shortly, so I can lend them, possibly as a straight swap for S4 pt1... dunno when I'll have time, though. I'm going to try to spend less time out drinking this week, as last week was knee-crawling level by Saturday...

I'm knackered and heading off to bed. And have a job interview tomorrow. Woo, etc, nerves, etc, need sleep, etc etc.

And I'm very annoyed that I can't get channel 5 here, as I'm being denied the edited-for-TV joys of Starship Troopers. Damnit.

Haven't seen S4 yet so lalalalaaa, I've got my fiiiingers in my ears.

This is unbearable. I either need scads of cash to buy DVDs or I need broadband so I can download this stuff. I mean, hunter-gatherer need.

Yes me too Mordant.

I've just spent lovely time choosing heaps of books from Amazon which I really, really need (I do, I do need them. How is a person supposed to further herself without the required reading?). But now I'm having breathing problems when I think about the amount of money I've spent on my credit card.

But it's not real money, right? It's free money, right?

I had a horrifying realisation about money the other day - I have no idea how much if it I have, or why. I mean, I haven't paid this years tax, but more generally I have no real idea how much I spend a week, how much I earn a week... I'm a complete financial disaster area.

Very odd. Still, now that some chicklit writer has accepted cash to plug the Ford Fiesta in her novel, I intend to do the same with a series of unsubtle product placements in Barbelith threads.

A very good question. Another very good question is - is it bad to drink vinegar? I love it so, but I have a feeling it may lead to ulcers...
