Ashley Wood sounds oddly plausible, Flyboy, though you’re right to say that if it is him then it’s a big improvement over his normal output. I’ve always wanted Wood to improve as an artist, as there’s something in his work that really appeals to me, but there’s always been a certain lack of chops on show (in terms of both rendering and—more importantly—storytelling) that stops me from really enjoying his art, even though I want to.
In an odd way, I’d really like this to be a Jimenez piece… for whatever reason, I’d like to think he has the range to do something like this.
I love this cover, in case you hadn’t guessed. It’s striking and moody and makes me very excited to see what Xorn’s role in all of this is going to be and… basically, it gets me excited about the issue/story arc in question, which is a sure sign that it’s doing its job well, right? |
