Don't feel shamed, I love The Braff too. Well just J.D really, I like that "starry-eyed Sandra Dee" quality, I suppose.

Yayy! It is good not to be alone in my love (and yes, JD more than Braff for me too: I like him in Garden State but didn't really fall for him till I was obsessively watching Scrubs on DVD while trying to cope with my first year in a proper job. I mean, not the sort of proper job where people actually die, but, you know.)

And also with GGM for the waftiness & squeeing re: House of Cards. Mmmm...

Have you tried watching Garden State again, since the actual love kicked in? I seem to remember he wears eyeliner in more than one scene. I almost fainted.

I have a crush on, I think, more than half the cast of Green Wing, although the plot of the thing is making me feel a bit conflicted about Sally Phillips let's look at a picture of Sally Phillips

I really like Robson Green. Enough where the thoughts in my head that aren't occupied by Chris Eccleston are filled with him.

*sigh*

I think I need a lie-down.

"American Werewolf in London" is on TV right now and I've just remembered how much I fancied Jenny Agutter when I was a youth. Ahhh....yes, she certainly awoke a beast in me. Bless her.

Funny coincidence. She´s the actress, that got posted in the movie game just 90 minutes ago!

Definitely a coincidence, as I swear I hadn't looked in the other thread.

And I almost picked "American Werewolf in London", but the other title sounded more silly.

Gah I must go and avail me of the DVD immediately and perhaps also rip it to my hard drive and screencap it a tiny little bit.

Oh, and also, I forgot, my first crush on a girl in aaaages:

She is Sandra Oh, and she is the only point of Grey's Anatomy (except that it is on after House and reminds me of Scrubs, so sometimes I do not turn it off).

If you'd like to see Sandra Oh in something a bit better than Jane's Fighting Ships, she has a supporting role in Sideways.

Cat Chant
15:16 / 10.05.06
Isn't Sideways that thing about men going round vineyards and talking about how many women they've fucked, or how they're going to settle down, or something? Does it have a redeeming feature, then (not counting the presence of Sandra Oh)?

matthew.
15:27 / 10.05.06
The redeeming feature is that both men are absolute losers who fuck up. And it's decently funny.

Cat Chant
15:42 / 10.05.06
Matt - that's pretty much what I was afraid of! I get the feeling that it's a movie which is going to ask me to think that emotional fuckwittage is endearing and lovable and vulnerable, and I just don't think it is. (I went to see Hell last night; it was hugely improved by my girlfriend shouting 'Comb your hair and get a job!' at Emmannuelle Beart at regular intervals.)

matthew.
15:55 / 10.05.06
Uh. Yeah. That's what the movie asks the audience to think. We're supposed to enjoy the idiocy of an alcoholic taking his womanizer friend out to vineyards and listen to them wine, I mean whine. (That pun would be greatly improved if it were audio only).

ONLY NICE THINGS
16:04 / 10.05.06
It's difficult - the clearly autobiographical main character gets a comparatively easy ride - he's wretched and wallowing in his own misery, and using wine snobbery to conceal the very obvious fact that he has a serious drinking problem, and is far more interesting and attractive than that ought to make him. On the other hand, his libidinous chum's naked body is assaulted by ostriches, so it's possible that it balances out. It's _reasonably_ clear-eyed about how being a fuck-up doesn't really make you interesting or sexy - it just makes you a fuck-up, but it's still an American comedy, you know?

Cat Chant
16:18 / 10.05.06
Yeah... the sound of it makes me go a bit Robert-McKee-out-of-Adaptation ('Every fucking day, someone, somewhere makes a conscious decision to destroy someone else. People find love, people lose it... If you can't find that stuff in life, then you, my friend, don't know crap about life. And why the FUCK are you wasting my two precious hours with your movie? I don't have any use for it. I don't have any bloody use for it.')

Or, you know, at least you could put in some flying pirates or a dragon or something.

But still! Sandra Oh!

Repeatedly is the missing word here. From all that you've said Deva, I think you would dislike Sideways quite intensely, but it is nevertheless a very good film for looking at Sandra Oh.

(where should the preposition go in that sentence? I lost it somewhere)

Sandra Oh fans might also enjoy Last Night, in which she plays a woman preparing to commit joint suicide with her husband on the (wait for it) last night of the world. No wait, come back...

Eeeee. So, anyway, there’s Cherubino, right, the page in the Marriage of Figaro - which is a part played by a girl playing a boy who’s then dressed up and disguised as a girl, and I think that’s pretty damn ace to start with. The really heart-stoppingly gorgeous Maria Ewing played him in the film that we used to have on video when I was a kid - first woozy crushage. Which I remembered recently because, only the other week, there was a new! Cherubino! Hottness! on telly.

Rinat Shaham. The extremely crushtastic, Audrey Hepburn-lookalike Rinat Shaham. Like, wow. Unfortunately, here the internet fails us - there only seems to be *one* picture of her dressed as a boy anywhere online. Its maybe not the best photo:

....she’s the one with the mop. And yet, sulky + mop = still hott. Such is the power of really great eyebrows.

Maybe I should start an 'Androgynous people for mice [PICS]' thread. Just a thought.

Go see the Organ if you get a chance. They're amazing.

*Sigh* Good call, mice.

Weak 'The organ in their pants' pun to justify linkage.

They were playing just down the road from me on Tuesday night and I'm still kicking myself for not discovering this fact until Wednesday morning.

The Organ remind me ('cos of a scene they were in) that it is almost time for our house to become a full-time shrine to Shane / Kate Moennig again.
