Went in today to talk to the people at my university who deal with undergraduate theses. This is about 5 months after the deadline, keep in mind (I'm wicked disorganized). Anyhow, I go talk to the woman in charge. I'm worried that it's too late or that I'll get hassled, but I pitch it to her for about 30 seconds and she says 'okay.' Of course, I have to get in touch with a couple people to advise it, but: I'm going to be writing a novel! And if all goes well, I'll be doing it with the help of people who I have a ton of respect for and who both Know Their Shit.
On top of that, tomorrow I'm going home. En route, I get to stop off and visit my roommate from last year who transferred to a different school, and then I get to visit my sister in Boston.
I could whinge a bit about how tonight I also had to say goodbye to one of my really close friends who I've had a massive crush on for most of the last 9 months, and who is also transferring (to Colorado) (with her boyfriend of the last 7 months), but I managed to sort my feelings out in that regard a few weeks ago (wonderful feeling of freedom there). As goodbyes go it was a good one in a bittersweet sort of way. So I guess right now I'm a little sad but mostly happy, especially because, holy fuck, I'm going to London in two weeks.
All in all I am pretty freakin' happy right now. |
