Can it beat, however, John Otway's version of Delilah, which I'm currently listening to?

On second thoughts, probably.

The cosy realisation that there is something truly wrong with my country when they air Nip/Tuck at reasonable hours.

On my bed are two beanbags, one on top of the other. It wasn't until I was standing on top of that pile, leaning at a mild angle, trying to put a condom over my ridiculously high fire alarm, that I realised it might be dangerous. The stupidity of it all made me laugh so much that being unable to use my bong indoors is almost ok.

Nelson Evergreen's pictures in the Drawing salon in Creation are lovely. I wish I could draw so beautifully.

Our arthritic guinea pig's weight has stabilised - was dangerously low, still is but isn't getting any lower - and, while he's basically going to be disabled for the rest of his life and is already cauing me no end of panic (rolls over on his side and can't right himself, sleeps with his eyes open - they all do - meaning that I'm constantly worried that he's died) this is better news that we were expecting.

Also, as a result of his problems, we've got to keep him inside, in the living room. Having a little furry dude squeaking at you whenever you talk to him or he hears something he likes coming from the telly is way cool.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh. That's so sweet.

I love guinea pigs. When I was a little girl I had lots and we used to sell the babies to the pet shop for two pounds fifty a go. I had one called Big One. Make of that what you will.

Please post a picture of yours, I want to see your poorly, squeaky guineapig.

ONLY NICE THINGS

Do guinea pigs sleep with their eyes open? Fantastic. I kept rats as a tiny, and the white one had the most remarkable night-eyes - if you woke in the night, they would actually glow red in the ambient light.

I miss the rats. The shrews under the floorboards are lovely, of course, but they're comparatively independent - and I think they nicked my The Knife album.

Oh, such a fluffy Meerschweinchen! My first image, when I read sleep with their eyes open, was of a Max Schreck Nosferatu, kicking back in his wooden box, licking his large protruding front teeth.

Baron Alfonse Krenckleschwitz.

Was what I wanted to call him. I was outvoted. He now answers to the name of 'Fluff'.

Is he a guinea pig with rosettes (forget the breed name) or just an exceptionally fluffy piggle? It is not often that I am moved to squee, but I did come back to this thread just to look at the guinea pig again.

I don't know, V. Sorry. He's definitely not just a freak of nature - he's one of a specific model that comes with extra static - but I don't know what model, exactly.

I love how that first photo looks like it was taken with a fish-eye lens because his poor, emaciated arse-end is so small in comparison to his head. And how he appears to have a rhino horn as a result of being roughed up just before photo time.

A mystery Barbeloid saying nice things to me on my blog. Who are they? I don't know. The link they left didn't work.
But thankyou mystery stranger. Flattery is always wonderful.

Bookmarked your bloggage now, Princess. Sweet!

Happy thing: steamed shrimp dumplings and dim sun buns for dinner, dipped in peanut sauce. With a gin/tonic.

Y'know, I was about to get pointlessly and unhelpfully ranty on the Anger thread. But my company just installed a new gym area for us hapless lab-monkeys, so I went to that over lunch and am now hopelessly loved-up on endorphins.

Everyone's wonderful.

Everything's finally working out!

(Cue next "Everything's Falling Apart!" post.)

Life, oh life, oh life, I'd rather have a piece of toast

But still happy, though, very happy, in a bright light of happiness that just about emanates from my eyes kind of way, I can't keep the grin off my face.

Oh and I've just seen that Illmatic has, at least, temporarily ceased his posting embargo, which does, indeed make me happy, but is still completely unrelated to the sparkly type.

Is there any purer bliss than this?
