Hallo, Paper Spaceboy

Medullix!

Saint Keggers

Medullix... sounds like some healthy breakfast cereal.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
01:49 / 15.08.07
Brain food?

Well, at least there's a croc involved, some big-time mythology, and a serious mystico-scholarly frilly-shirted Anne Rice tie-in to go with my gothy pseudo-new name.

Meanwhile, here I'm dealing with something that's involving a crock, too. Wrong kind, and mostly stinky, but, well, there you go.

Remarkably better today than yesterday, though, The interrogation scene from last night? Draft was satisfactory enough the cancelled the pre-planned rewrite of my rewrite.

Sounds like some expensive healthy breakfast cereal. With big scientific-sounding reasons for being seriously pricey and good for you.

I am a cereal something, (Much like DN is dealing with crocks), but just not that kind of cereal.

However, I stay crunchy in a milk bath.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
01:57 / 15.08.07
I did some writing this morning but haven't gotten anything done since. I think I should start it up again and get another hour's work out of me.

But maybe I should have some strawberries while I do it.

Talk about writing, I recieved the most intriguing spam the other day:

Hey! That took me three weeks to come up with!

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
02:03 / 15.08.07
Perhaps the spambots are...learning. Evolving. Becoming more. Spambots! Seeking life! Revolution!

Soon, they will evolve into HAMBOTS!

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
02:06 / 15.08.07
Venger, I never knew you were a spambot. Good show, evolving past your humble beginnings.

This Sunday
02:06 / 15.08.07
Wow, put a clean costume and a nice smile on that, and you could give Swaggart and the boys a run for their money.

Yay! Only 2 more days until I can change my name.

This Sunday

I shudder of the day you're left with simply... Venger's Out of Spares.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
02:11 / 15.08.07
Fuck. Now my word processor's acting all fucked up.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
02:12 / 15.08.07
Needless to say, I'm backing up ALL my work right now.

Saint Keggers
02:14 / 15.08.07
Always a good idea backups for teh win.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
02:15 / 15.08.07
I do it fairly regularly anyway, but I hadn't yet backed up the full text of first draft or the start of the second draft.

This Sunday
02:18 / 15.08.07
I keep telling myself I'll be smart and back up everything regularly. But I just about never do. And, having lost Works, all the .wps files I amassed over the past year have become intricately horrible to work with.

Always back up. And always back up the text in formats that even the dumbest machine can interpret. (And good luck getting them all before something goes sour, Papers.)

Damn. Now I know why I don't occupy public office.

You couldn't have posted that before the polls closed?

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
02:29 / 15.08.07
Back-up's done. I also deleted a load of shit files that don't deserve continued storage. I'm having some problems with windows -- it seems to leave a thumbs .db file in each a lot of the directories, and then can't get rid of the file when I get rid of everything, so...I wonder if there's a way around that.

Going to see if I can defrag the beast now.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
02:36 / 15.08.07
God, this machine is a real neanderthal tonight.

Saint Keggers
02:37 / 15.08.07
Make it evolve! Go on! Use your 'science'.

This Sunday
02:37 / 15.08.07
If it's just the .db file bugging you, try moving everything useful out of the folder and dumping the whole folder to the trash. Then retitle a new folder as the old one and slip the good stuff back in.

Of course, it's reflexively going to make a new .db file and put it in there, you'll be doing this for a long time. Over and over.

(I've just typed myself back into Crimson and Clover. That's what, threel, four days of that song, now?)

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
02:39 / 15.08.07
Nah, I've given up on that. Now, I'm trying to defrag, but this thing is a monster tonight.

Papess
02:44 / 15.08.07
My monster comp has had a back up and defrag just a few of days ago. We are both feeling much more agreeable.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
02:46 / 15.08.07
Apparently, it doesn't think it needs a defrag. I might do it anyway, though. And I'm running the disk cleanup function now.

I just burned a few photosessions to cd. I was sure they were going to be lost before I had a chance to copy them. Not good. I hate it when that happens.

Now, Im going to pour myself a glass of wine. Cause its tradition. yeah thats tonights excuse.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
02:49 / 15.08.07
I could do with some wine, but I have none at the moment. It might have made all this computer nonsense a bit easier to manage.

Saint Keggers
02:52 / 15.08.07
I have to wait 10 minutes... all the glasses are in the dishwasher. Waiting is the hardest part.
