[+] [-] Spoiler Even though Billie Piper's return has been confirmed entirely by the BBC, I'm still going to tag this just to be sure.
When I first heard this news it was a little exhausting. Outpost Gallifrey's forums subsequently exploded into a heated argument as to why she shouldn't be coming back. It wasn't as ugly as when Eccleston quit, but it was pretty close. I really couldn't see folks problems with her return, and the backlash it provoked was astounding.
A week or so later and the news has sunk in. I'm definitely enthused about her return and considering that it's RTD writing it, I'm sure it'll be full of heart-tugging hugs and "I wuv yoos." I can understand that a lot of fans dislike that element of RTD's writing, calling it "soapy," and to an extent, I agree. But, once yoy settle into the RTD groove and get to know how he works, his stories always have a wonderful warmth to them and are usually full of kick-ass action scenes. So, the episodes featuring Rose should be exciting, at the very least. If they approach the excellence of something like Gridlock or Utopia, then there's nothing to worry about.
Anyway, the Doctor Who website has their annual advent calendar up. The first entry is an endearing season's wishes from Kylie and David.
The page does have a big old casting spoiler slapped on it though, so if you want to remain unspoiled for season 4, avoid the calendar.
