It's a bit like the way you don't care about environmentalism or feminism, isn't it; a cool and stylish indifference that for some reason needs to be broadcast repeatedly, just in case one or two people might miss how much of a toss you don't give.

I'm not sure if there's anything 'cool' or 'stylish' about my position with regard to the environment, or feminism.

I could say I'm in favour of both, or neither, but I'm really trying to be less like Jeremy from 'Peep Show'.

In fact could all of you just stop doing that because you're creating more problems than a troll or functionality issues.

As far as I'm aware, I already had stopped doing that some months back. I think you'd be hard pushed to find me complaining about the functionality recently, since I decided I might as well carry on posting - and, actually, for some time before that, too.

I didn't say that you were, basically if you want to fight with Flyboy fight via pm. This isn't making barbelith better.

That said, I am a buster. I am a total buster. The only guy in the world who's even more of a buster than I, utter buster though I be, is arguably to be found on page 21 of this week's exercise in applied busterism.

Not that there's anything wrong with being a buster.

Nina, you're not coherent here, and it's clearly not making for a positive contribution. Might be an idea to step back a bit.

It seems folk have decided nothing will anyway. Barbelith is dying, and [whatever you like] killed it.

It was you, toxic, that killed it, with your aggressive approach to capital letters. It was you, and 'gunny'.

It does seem clear that this was obviously an encore too far - like the Pistols coming back to tour again... I can't bring myself to feel anything other than genuine animosity for the vast majority of what goes on here nowadays, so I'm best off out of it, I think. I already feel sort of sick with myself for having pissed away months of abstinence and the hard-won sense of superiority to those still scrabbling away here that came with it.

Time to go.

Well if it is, it is.

But not to be so hard on yourself, MF.

When the fates weave their evil web, some are simply marked out as busters, and that's all there is to it.

Maybe it's because the Pistols never really evolved, rested on their laurels, and then bitched and whined when the world didn't throw itself at their feet.

It's too bad really, because the Pistols really made an impact way back when, but for their reunion all they did was bitch about the shite state of today's music and could barely play anymore themselves. Lydon was better off with PIL and Steve was a great producer and sessions man. They had nothing new to say however, except to say that all the new music sucked.

And thus the Sex Pistols became Pink Floyd.

the hard-won sense of superiority

Well, that's where you went wrong. You left the game far too late in the day for that to be real.

...and the hard-won sense of superiority to those still scrabbling away here...

The only thing stranger to me than developing a sense of superiority to those of us still scrabbling away here is the fact that it was apparently hard-won.

Anyway. I want your sidearm and badge on my desk by the end of the day. You'll get two weeks pay, and we've taken the liberty of cleaning out your desk for you. I'm keeping that picture of you putting Alec Baldwin in a figure-four leg lock. It's a valuable training tool.

It does pass the time though, doesn't it.

That's what I mean by "hard-won", obviously - I'm like Bubs and teh smack. He must get off the smack, but he simply can't!

Time to go.

Why not just scramble the password?

Works sorta like flushing your smack. Just miss out the buying it again straight away part. That way you only need to summon the willpower for that few seconds. You can even do it while drunk. Really fucking drunk, so there's no chance you'll remember the password your fingers mash into the keyboard.

You like drinking, right? And you want outta here, right? So why not?

so, Buk's finally crossed the line from "might just be genuinely horrible at making an argument" to "blatantly trolling the socialist hippies"?

it's like a switch went off in hir head.

Yea, no point getting annoyed by Buks thread. It was like it was written by an 8 year old. An 8 year old wanker. I'm slightly annoyed with myself though because, for some reason, i seemed to have him down as a ok guy. Not sure why as i don't remember reading any posts by him.

even on top of that, there's the financial crisis thread. buk's last post is the best example yet of crap argument - something along the lines of "well, while we're questioning the IMF and World Bank, we might as well question charity organizations! who really knows what THEY'RE up to, eh?" ridiculous in, like 4 directions.
