GO FRANCE!!!

Funny story- a friend of mine has banned me from using the words "$cientology" and "mudkips" in conversation. So today, when I said "I met a clown who got harassed by S-words in Paris", HER friend's 10-year-old kid asked what "s-words" were. His mum, it turns out, has thought I was a $cientologist for the last few months, and wasn't allowed to mention it because my friend thought I was going to evangelise. She was VERY relieved to find that this wasn't the case.

I was horrified, yet strangely flattered that she's still been so nice to me.

hahah that's fantastic! In a weird convoluted way...
Glad it got sorted!

The awesomest thing was that once it was all sorted out, the kid asked me why I hated $cientology. Thinking I was talking to a normal 10-year-old, rather than a REALLY frighteningly intelligent one, I said "well, they ruin a lot of people's lives and mess with their heads". He turned to me and said "what, like they brainwash them and then say 'that'll be 25,000 pounds, please?'". I was like "pretty much exactly that, yes".

What a great kid!

Yesterday's raid was great- numbers down again, but it was much more focused, and to be honest, when we had huge numbers the $cilons never used to come out of their building. Now they've started handing out leaflets again (or trying to) which actually gives us something concrete to educate the public about. Nobody took them, and a fair few people who were about to took the time to listen to us instead.

Nearly lost my voice shouting "the man in the red tie is lying to you", but it was a good afternoon.

Oh, man. Exactly. Fewer people, some weird tension, but it was awesome. They had their camera guys out, trying to get sound bites for their propaganda, but we had a documentary filmmaker there, and so they're immortalized saying things like "Who is Guy Fawkes?" (schooled by a HS kid, btw) and "anonymous invented Goatse." We got to confront them with a giant leak to boot. It was awesome.

Enturb's got stories, but that's the first I've seen pics, thanks. From what I hear, the media's eating up the "free katie" element...

Incidentally, Enturb's fucked... all been relocated at this place. Dust still seems to be settling.

There's some chat about it over on clambake.

A combination of server side issues(mangement/DDOS/more management), basically.

The fight has been going a bit flat of late, and I think some folks are also getting bored. I wouldn't be that surprsed if some anon are getting lulz by taking down the po-faced enturb guys themselves, knowing it will be blamed on scilons. It's certainly been claimed.

Slightly less relveant, Anons in general seem to have got a lot more vicious of late. This is possibly an effect of two vague factions seperating; the moralf Vs the sickf. All the moralf are dealing with scilons, all the sickf all left with the rest of the internet.

For one thing, the accidental forced CP count is at an all time high since I've known of them.

$cientology not welcome on Native American reservations.

Infiltrating a ceremony? If that's true, then FFS...

I watched a French language news Interview of a guy who left Sea-Org (And his family, etc...) Similar story to Jason Beghe: Still feels a lure but know's it's the effect of brainwashing.
He has a site Here which is based on his first writing called "Easy to Enter, Hard to Leave".
I believe that Quebec may make moves to Brand Scientology as a cult. It's becomming high profile and Quebec needs a nice easy target since the Solar Temple suicides and past popularity of the Raelians here. I'd bet that there the first in North America to take steps to make Co$ illegal.

Infiltrating a ceremony? If that's true, then FFS...

Surprises me not at all. Most Native American things that I've heard about are pretty much as open as any other church service, only they look much less formal, so it'd be easy for some bunch of yayloos to wander in and start talking to people about HOW WE CAN FIX YOUR PERSONALITY!

Seems a natural for the CoS.

archim3des: I'm not sure what one could take from the OTs one couldn't find better versions of elsewhere... although there's the whole Free Zone thing dedicated to using "the tech" without the exploitation.

I personally haven't done much with it other than muse over it - a lot of the process involves being interviewed by a trained auditor, so, you know, there's your first hurdle.

Guards at celebrity Scientology centre shoot dead man wielding two Samurai swords (Warning! Dailymail link!)

An ex-Scientologist was shot dead after he walked into the religion's celebrity centre in Hollywood wielding two samurai swords.

Police said the man, who was shot and killed by a security guard, had a 'previous relationship' to the church, but released little other information.

The unidentified man, described as being in his 40s, approached three guards on Sunday in the car park of the Scientology Celebrity Centre - frequented by stars including Tom Cruise and John Travolta. The two were not at the centre when the incident occurred.

Yeah, everyone's still waiting to find out what his "previous relationship" with the $cilons was. Although the security guard was probably just doing his job (the guy had swords, FFS- I'd probably have shot him too), this looks a lot like it could be yet another victim of the cult's amazing ability to make people's mental health problems worse.

Ex-member's critical book yanked from Amazon.co.uk after a visit from Tom Cruise.

The timing may be coincidental.

The author was in SeaOrg for a few years, then lost faith in 2004 and decided to bust out. Amazon claims that a "non-celebrity" mentioned in the book complained about being defamed.

Yeah, I'm really pissed about that. I was waiting for that fucker, and ONE WEEK MORE and I would have been able to afford it.

There was a big interview with Duignan in one of the tabloids the other week- sensational headline along the lines of "I WOULD HAVE KILLED FOR CRUISE CULT", but the actual content was fascinating. I'll try to find it- I saved the actual pages, so should be able to find the text online somewhere.

(Incidentally, personal life getting all fucked-up has meant I've missed the last couple of raids and been out of the loop for a while... not entirely sure WHAT'S going on now!)

It strikes me more than a little odd how frightened Amazon is of Scientology and its threats. (For instance, the missing negative reviews of Dianetics.) Reports on the book ban have mentioned that Cruise himself turned up to talk Amazon out of selling it.

Thanks for that, freektemple.

$cientology has a history of regarding many illnesses as primarily mental and to be treated with vitamins and auditing rather than conventional medicine. Epilepsy is one of those illnesses. In fact, on of the main reasons Tory Christman blew was because she was denied access to her epilepsy meds.

Well, what I've heard about Kawasaki syndrome is that after a while there *aren't* appropriate meds. It's not a nice ailment.

So this may be a bit too much to pin on the CoS.

On the other hand, I wasn't there so I don't know.

Despite being a $cilon, I really can't imagine Travolta not trying everything, including proper medicine and the best doctors, to help his son...

But then again, who knows...

I have been shocked in the past by stories of fathers refusing simple medical treatment for their kids, preffering prayer. I still doubt that this was the case. I feel bad for the family.

If Jett was in a car crash, I wonder if Tom Cruise would be the only person in the world who would know how to help?

Thing is, freektemple, do Jehovah's Witnesses ACTUALLY HAVE a policy on epilepsy meds, and a history of depriving sufferers of them?

Or was that just a REALLY DUMB JOKE???

As someone whose family turned briefly and inexplicably JW in my adolescence, I can state for a fact that Witnesses only proscribe blood-based meds. Christian Scientist would be a bit more apt.

Eek! A Freek!

I only know about JW's having a ban on blood related treatments.
It was a dumb joke reflecting that I didn't believe that Scientologists withheld medical treatment for diseases like epilepsy, not realizing that they considered all "diseases of the mind" treatable only with their tecniques.
I was aware of $'s stance on psychology and I was also trying to illustrate that other religions have stupid beliefs about diease/healing as well.
I'm sorry for posting without reading up on it a bit more first, it was sloppy and a weak attempt at a joke. I meant no real offence except to show disdain for both S & JW's.

One persistent symptom of autism is seizures, often violent.

There's only one winner there and that's US! I'd love to see co$ lock horns with some badass corp like Fox one day and get a legal kicking, but I think they're too canny. Much more likely to join forces in a mighty axis of evil.

BTW it's “I learned long ago, never to wrestle with a pig, you get dirty; and besides, the pig likes it.” George Bernard Shaw
