I was going to try and avoid Big Brother this year, but having read a little about this 'Emily', I already feel I have a sort of love/hate bond with her, so I suspect I'll be tuning in soon enough...

I'll be rooting for Lesley, of course.

The level-headed good sense that only really comes with age should serve her well in the house, I think.

Unless she turns out to have taken too much acid in the Sixties, or something, that is. Although I suppose I'll be especially rooting for Lesley if that's the case

Aside from that, I haven't, as yet, got any further than looking at the photos on Digital Spy. But already it seems as if Tracey might have a lot of problems.

Still, thank God Moylesy's only going to be on there for the next three nights, eh viewers?

That he's there for three days is evidence enough that God is real and he hates us.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK

You know how last year I said I was undecided as to whether I liked Russell Brand or hated him?

By God, I miss the old bastard.

13:01 / 31.05.07
I think it would be a brilliant twist if the "real hunk" they introduce to the house on Friday turns out to be ...

Chris Moyles.

Ooh, those horny ladies will be gagging to get to him! Watch the fur fly!

Who's this year's Barbelith housemate, then, do we reckon?

The Falcon
14:25 / 31.05.07
On current status, I'm inclined to opt for Shabnam.

Do not like the lugubrious-voiced, Zoe-off-Hollyoaks Emily, I think.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
14:41 / 31.05.07
No, me neither. On the live feed (and I could have heard this wrong) she just (about half an hour ago) did her usual "I wana marry a footballer so I can sit on my arse all day except when I'm shopping" thing and then tried to play the sensitive card by saying "and then I'd start a charity for children". (As I say, I could be wrong and someone else could have spoken over her, but I'm fairly sure it was her). Like, "I'm all kind and caring and I'd absolutely love to do stuff to help people if it didn't involve me making any effort". Which is at least honest, though not, I'd say, necessarily commendable.

I vaguely know the twins. At my Uni.

I say vaguely. Not friends. Can't really provide any gossip.

All Acting Regiment

No, no gossip at all.

Alex's Grandma
15:58 / 31.05.07
Really though, should the twins have been allowed on in the first place? Unless they (not so) secretly despise each other, and routinely get into cat fights over the head of 'boys' they 'fancy', aren't they an instant power bloc, and quite possibly a power bloc with one of those things we don't like to talk about on here?

The Falcon
16:56 / 31.05.07
Well, possibly, but it'd be nice if they were treated as one bloc for teh noms, i.e. voted thegethir, were voted against as a unit, etc. I can't imagine BB won't separate them on occasion; whatever works out to their detriment, really, the more the better.

Stoat - do you confuse Emily & Channelle? The latter is the Lady Beckham would-be, the former the one who wants to tell of this crazy 'indie' craze which, well, it's too obscure for me, really. Sweeps the nation, so I am told. The irritating thing about that posture, I imagine, is that it'll be more informed by what she does not like than the amazingness of, God, the View or maybe, if we're lucky, something truly appalling like Just Jack. But I do not expect this to be discussed extensively.

so they're training to be social workers but, pardon me, 'hate chavs'? doubleyou-tee-eff? first day at work's gonna be an eyeopener i reckon. i really hate them. exactly the same as having boboss / la pig together squatting in the corner of my living room.

'production team have already told me that single bed over there's mine.' canny granny, sussed her audience quite quickly, like that.

charley's not challenging my preconceptions about wannabe wags much...

ladyrave - is it possible to have done so many pills that you just blow your jaw and are stuck in a permanent gurn? or was she actually mashed when she went in?

posh spice seems nice but damn has she got a stupid name. and she likes posh spice - can't really let that slide, so she gets a massive whack with the wanker stick from me i'm afraid.

shabazz, well i quite like that dress and she's standing quite close to the breakdown door so i'll be keeping an eye on her...

geldof - she's indie! she's going to vote tory! she's from a fucking big house in the country! she can fuck off!

the welsh girl - just seems actually nice but the motormouth thing may well get to me before the next three months are out.

digging nicky's weariness a lot - someone give her a fag and leave the poor girl alone. my early favourite.

lady galloway - seems alright in an embarrassing a-level teacher sort of way. when her and doubleyoueye clash it'll be like when galvatron and megatron had a scrap that time, so that'll be amazing.

overall an interesting bunch, though i don't know when the last time i heard the words 'make up' so much was. seems they could have just gone to any house club, grabbed four girls, then gone next door to the indie disco (um, they play electrosleaze there actually?) and done the same, then added a couple of their mums and a deeply awful older sister. roll on then the summer.

I can't bear any of them, except for Lesley, of course, and the oddly arresting Emily. I should stress, however, that I am not a lesbian.

Particular bad vibes being directed towards Laura at the moment. I'd also quite like to see something fairly hard-edged happen to the twins. But not to anything like the same degree.

Hi all - I can't contribute much to this thread owing to pressures of work, but no one seems to have mentioned the fact that Tracey is/was clearly a man. I thought one of the ditsy twins would have said something by now. And she's trying to be Pete and that is so last year.

Dude. No. No. No.

Mine too.

the oddly arresting Emily

Granny, your mind is like soot on the day that the chimney is swept.

no one seems to have mentioned the fact that Tracey is/was clearly a man

Perhaps but why the hell would we care?

Haus of Mystery
07:39 / 01.06.07
She came out with a corker on the live feed the other day - responding to Lesley's comment that she would try and remain aloof, the gurning one laughed snapped her fingers and shouted "Aloofage!"

Perhaps but why the hell would we care?

Not particularly bothered, but considering some of the more innane observations, I thought it worthy of note. And I wasn't really referring to barbeloids really anyway - but curious why no one in the house has mentioned it.

Well one way or another, she makes me feel slightly sad and ashamed when I think about my days on the rave scene.

I'm picturing Tracey up on stage, 'having it', doing her potty goldfish dance, in her own warped imagination leading the crowd ... it's actually a bit much.

Once she's out of the house, whoever's the Drug Czar these days should definitely think about giving her a job. As it is, I'm guessing sales of psychedelics are about to fall off dramatically.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK

As annoying as they are (and believe me, they really, really are), Tracey's constant shouts of "AVVIT!!!" are marginally less self-mutilation-inducing than, well, pretty much anything the creepy twins do. And a lot less shrill.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
11:52 / 01.06.07
Just now on the repeat, when they were discussing birthdays, which one proudly shouted "I'M A CANCER!!!"?

Cos that was great, depending on who it was.

but curious why no one in the house has mentioned it.

Because it would be really fucking rude (and for all her exclamations she seems quite nice)?

Was she? I've only seen the two C4 programmes, but this hasn't been clear to me at all.

Der Falke: On current status, I'm inclined to opt for Shabnam

Anna de Logardiere: Dude. No. No. No.

Yeah, I'm not a fan so far. Its early days, but at the moment I like Laura, Tracey, and Nicky. I think Chanelle might make a good housemate too once everyone's settled in. Based on her introductory video, she seemed pretty sharp.

Emily's getting right on my tits. "I've been wearing skinny jeans for ages. I mean, who the hell was wearing skinny jeans three years ago?"

FUCK. OFF.

Whisky Priestess
13:22 / 01.06.07
She's been wearing those for three years?

Ew.

I'm not sure whether Tracey's transsexual or not, but that headshot of her on the BB site does her absolutely no favours whatsoever. The hair ... mother, the bad-wig hair!

What like, people *really* reckon Tracy used to be a feller? Not an expert or anything, but I’m not seeing that at all. Or are they just being mean because she’s annoying? (She is annoying, but in an addictive way – today I can’t stop saying ‘Avvit’ and ‘Unlucky-kentucky’ as I’m going about my merry way.) Is it cos she was all chinny when she went in? If so, then that was the drugs, obviously.

If we’re speculating daftly for crazy shemale shocks in a big bro stylee, let’s look around for some real evidence: Good pins, talks openly about having had surgery, interested in football, got a bloke’s name – anything you want to tell us Charley?

Meanwhile, posh spice thinks moths are ‘boy butterflies’. I’d like to go for a drink with her, her and my friend Cyanide.

And the twins like jumping up and down on furniture, and seem to share one rather titchy mind. You know the bit in the Pullman books where the person gets severed from their daemon? I want to do that to them.

I don't know she looks boyish so I can see why someone might think it, specifically round the hip area but I don't really care to spend time thinking about it. I like Tracey, although I dislike her jacket quite a lot.

The Twins have an ability to say the exact same thing at exactly the same time. One of them starts a sentence, then glimpses briefly at the other, as if transmitting information telepathically, and then they both finish the sentence with the same words. It's uncanny, in a Stepford Cuckoos sort of way.

Alex's Grandma
17:35 / 01.06.07
Also not really seeing Tracey as a transexual - for one thing, wouldn't she have been too busy raving to get the op?

18:07 / 01.06.07
Tracey just has a hard drug face, I don't think that she's a man however irrelevant that may be. But really what do you think happens to people if they do pills every weekend for 15 years do you think they're rosy cheeked by Wednesday again?

Dark side of the Moonfrog1
08:39 / 02.06.07
Is any one else getting an ' I go out at weekends and stab tramps with screwdrivers' vide from Ziggy?

Apart from that, I quite like the chap.

Alex's Grandma
13:43 / 02.06.07
Yeah, he does seem a decent-enough sort.

Not sure if I wouldn't rather have had some kind of preening ego-maniac instead though (imagine what Maxwell or Sezar might have made of the situation) because, last night's business with Lesley, Charley and the showers aside (and that was just plain unpleasant) it's seemed a bit flat so far

Lesley and Tracey to be up for eviction I suppose, probably voluntarily

Alex's Grandma
17:27 / 02.06.07
Actually I take that back, about the flatness of the show - Charley now seems to be generating a certain amount of haterz on Digital Spy, after the news that she apparently lied about what's being referred to as 'Weegate'. Which seems like an unusually weird and spiteful thing to have done; perhaps she sees herself as a Trickster figure?
