31st March has been confirmed as the launch date. It was going to be the 24th, but there's a football match on or something, so they reconsidered.

Whew, that should cross-over nicely with the end of BSG and, combined with Heroes and (hopefully) Smallville keep my sci-fi glands swollen well into June.

More episode titles have been revealed too:

"Human Nature" has been confirmed as the title of episode 8.
Moffat's Doctor-lite episode is titled "Blink," while the first part of the closing two parter is entitled "The Sound of Drums."

So, season 3 has been given the blockbuster-esque tagline of "Two Worlds will collide." Gallifrey/Earth? Or possibly the more metaphorical personal worlds that the Doctor and Martha reside in.

There's also a new teaser trailer, for all interested.

That's sort of a crap trailer.

Ah, back to Tennant-y goodness. Yay!

Yeah, the quality is fairly low. According to Lizo off Newsround, a better version will be shown on TV tomorrow, followed by a 40 second teaser next week.

Simm as the Master could be interesting. What I'd like, given his youthful appearance, is for them to make him radically different - for him to be someone the doctor knows from his youth - a guy who's always hated the Doctor for his smug superiority and the fact that he always wins. He calls himself the Master but really he's the second-best student in the class, and he wants revenge on the good Doctor for always getting the prize, the gold star and the girl.

And thus, inevitably, we will get...

Doctor/Master slashfic!

RTD interview in the Telegraph. Seems he'll be leaving the show after the 2007 Chrimbo special.

Wow - there is some appalling writing in that Telegraph piece, inelegant to the point of inaccurate.

9-ish days to go. Woot!

In addition to the two already televised trailers, there's another one on Freema's website.

There's the press screening of Smith and Jones and The Shakespeare Code tonight, so biggish spoilers and tidbits are bound to be floating about from here to broadcast. Should we abandon this thread in favour of an episode-by-episode spoiler free one?

I hate spoilers and have avoided reading most of this thread. It was tricky to pick out the post-show discussion of the Runaway Bride from it without reading the other bits.

Having said that, I have a little query about the general milieu of one of the upcoming S3 episodes.

In the season trailer after the Runaway Bride, there were some scenes of an armed group at a campsite in early C20th clothes. They seemed to be an army of some sort, but dressed in civilian gear – flat caps and waistcoats..

Would I be way off the mark if I guessed that the scene took place in Ireland during the War of Independence? There just seemed to be something of the ‘Wind that Shakes the Barley’ about the scenes.

The only other conflict I can think of that had that ‘look’ was perhaps the Spanish Civil War. Or perhaps it was just some hunting party out for a wee shoot. 

Even though the Doctor caught up between the Republicans and the Black and Tans for an episode or two would be well tasty, but I don’t think the Beeb are quite ready to go there yet. A pity as it was an interesting period and I’m sure there’s a few good tales to be told from that era.

Se7en in the pm. BBC1

Don't look at the bbc official website. I just did and there are some spoilers.

I must write a letter to 'Points of View'

'Why oh why, must we be continually subjected to....'

Anyway, looking forward to this series. Ten seems to be a little more comfortable and relaxed in the role from the few trailers I've seen.

I see no-one has shot down my surmise about the shooting party. Maybe there WILL be an episode about some early twentieth century insurrectionists. I can still dream!

Oops! The Dr Who Weakest Link is on at 8.30 PM tonight.

The Weakest Link!!! Nerdism is crossing over to the mainstream!

That we should have lived to see the day!

What next? Johnny Storm on Top Gear? Two-Ton Tony Tubbs having his pooh examined on 'You are what you eat'?

Unfortunately, yes. I don't think that the Doctor has ever set foot in Ireland to date, excepting a recent Big Finish audio play.

Prove me wrong kids!
