Spam is spam, whether it hits your inbox, your fax machine, or your phone.
You're legally protected to prevent unsolicited emails faxes and calls you know... I have experience in telemarketing and email marketing and they're (in theory) opt-in industries with fines for transgressors.
If you don't want calls or faxes sign up to the telephone (or fax) preference service here in the UK, then if anyone phones you just tell them and they'll leave you alone. If your anti-spam filters are failing you there's always spamcop and similar organisations, and if you don't want spam at all then be careful who you give your email address to and where you post it online and they won't be able to send you emails.
Having said that I sympathise with the initial post because getting offered credit in a pushy way is a particular bugbear of mine, it's just legally allowable loansharking. It's OK to hate the banks, as long as you don't grief their call centre monkeys.
On a related note I'm trying to create a list of 100 call centre games you can play to pass the time and help you smile while you dial, beyond name bingo and wastebasketball. Any suggestions? |
