I had a look at Amstrad's website. They actually write about their videophone on the main page. Videophones? Come on, who uses videophones? Perhaps so SAS can ogle at Michelle as he sits on his yacht.
And looking at their other products, it's clear that design isn't their strong point. Most things look plain ugly, but the prize is taken home by this horrible iPod-like design ripoff hifi. It's white and has something that looks like the iPod clickwheel, and totally fails at looking good.
The funny thing is that in the interview episode one of the interviewers said that hardware things were now just some minor part of Amstrad and that it was all about consultancy, or at least implied that. This is funny, because everywhere on the website they just go on and on about the "Telecoms, Audio, TV, Video and Digital Satellite products" they make. No mention of consultancy. Not even on the jobs page, which again highlights the audio/tv/telecom production. |
