Keep collecing your fruit, buy a shovel, and start planting new trees. More trees = more fruit = more money.
Both bug hunting and fishing can give you some money, but personally I've always made sure the museeum had a specimen before selling to Nook (I don't want to notice some time later on that I have caught all the fish, but that the museeum is missing some of them).
If you're having troubles fishing you might want to turn your sound up. I talked to someone who, when fishing, turned his sound up, closed his eyes, and waited for the sound of the fish pulling down the bait. And while I can't say I have studied it, I think the animals in the pond(s), like frogs and so on, give you a little more time than some of the big ocean fish. And if you are having troubles getting the fish to bite at all, make sure your bair is in front of the fish, so it can see it.
Further, I suggest getting to know the other villagers, and sending each of them a letter each day (if you want to spend that much time), since they'll almost always send you a present back, which might help you get some nicer things for your house, or even non-native fruit. |
