Keep collecing your fruit, buy a shovel, and start planting new trees. More trees = more fruit = more money.

Both bug hunting and fishing can give you some money, but personally I've always made sure the museeum had a specimen before selling to Nook (I don't want to notice some time later on that I have caught all the fish, but that the museeum is missing some of them).

If you're having troubles fishing you might want to turn your sound up. I talked to someone who, when fishing, turned his sound up, closed his eyes, and waited for the sound of the fish pulling down the bait. And while I can't say I have studied it, I think the animals in the pond(s), like frogs and so on, give you a little more time than some of the big ocean fish. And if you are having troubles getting the fish to bite at all, make sure your bair is in front of the fish, so it can see it.

Further, I suggest getting to know the other villagers, and sending each of them a letter each day (if you want to spend that much time), since they'll almost always send you a present back, which might help you get some nicer things for your house, or even non-native fruit.

Cool tips - many thanks.

The letter writing has already delivered some very nice prezzies, such as a wardrobe, an Illusion Wall and the Cloud Floor, both of which compliment each other delightfully.

Bug catching has rendered some big bells and I caught a crawfish the yesterday, so I'm getting the hang of it.

I've also found visiting the recycling bin in the town hall often yields some lovely loot, either to sell or furnish my pad.

How do I make clothes to send to people, or is that not possible, or am I merely being thick?

I haven't found a way to do it. With self-designed clothes I've only been able to wear them myself. Another player visiting your town can get your design, so they can wear it. But I don't think you can create a real item from your own designs.

My fishing tips - After a similar period of "the one that got away" I've learned that, when the fish pulls the float underwater, slowly draw the stylus across the screen, to simulate a steady heave on the line. When I was snatching at it, a lot more got away.

You can't send designs you've created to other animals, but if you display them in Able sisters then there's a good chance some of them will start to wear them of their own accord.

Holy Crap!

Having not posted here in an age or so, I find myself drawn back in through the promise of hot DS to DS AC:WW action.

So, is anyone free to visit my week-old town, Tutuvia?

I'm not with my DS for a few weeks at least, but I want to hear more tales of cherries and oranges (wonders that I have never experienced in my boring world of apples). Have you all given up on this game after the initial enthusiasm, or are you all so engrossed that you can't drag yourselves to the computer to post?

I'm still playing this.

I have paid off my mortgage in it's entirety, which gets you...

SPOILERS

...Sweet Fanny Adams (i.e. nothing) of particular interest

SPOILERS END!

And I am now working on getting to Platinum level at Nook's, which will take another 900,000 bells worth of purchases.

However, paying off the mortgage has had a good effect, in that I now take a lot more care with setting up my house. I'm trying to get the front room looking great, but I have a spare room to the right which is currently "the desert island room'; lots of flotsam and jetsam, a hammock, desrt island carpeting and blue sky wallpaper.

Apart from that, it's business as usual! (Two fossils left before my collection... Is complete!)

I'm still playing it, although I've been away for a few weeks on vacation, so I have to pick it up and start taking care of my little town again.

I got a copy, but I couldn't save!
It made me want to cry.

It will be replaced with a working version soon, I hope, and I can go through Tom Nook's initiation rites again, for the fourth and final time.

yay!

I'm still playing and I am a bug catching master. I don't play as much as I did, but the winter's coming, which means long cold DS type nights.

iamus, if you design something and put it on display another person can come to your town and trade for that display, so you can create items for other people but they just need to come and collect them.

I did this for my little boy, I made him a shirt which he then came to the Able sisters to collect. Or if you make it your town flag then the person can get it from there.

Yup, you're right.

You can't actually send stuff, but people can pick up. I have two Suedey designs through this process. Pirate and Stylish War Hero. Sending direct isn't a possibility though.

On the same kind of tip, as far as I can tell there's no way to get bugs or fish from one person to the other. If anyone else has figured this out then I'd like to hear.

Can you do it during the flea market? The other character will buy your fish, so maybe guests can to. I will try tomorrow.

The only thing I could think of for moving bugs and fish from DS to DS is to create a character specifically for that purpose, load them up on stuff you want to shift, and have them emigrate.

The question becomes one of "do they arrive with their inventory intact" from hereon in, and I have not had an opportunity to test it. If anyone has occasion to try this, please pass on the results!

I have a continue option on the first screen! Yes!

It's midnight, here, so I can't meet all the townsfolk (Also, I had my first rude person! The mail lady doesn't like me), so I'll play tomorrow.

But I can save! I'm very excited.

I am finally settled in after my move, and hoping to have an ACWW "housewarming" for anyone who wants to visit. As I'm in the States at EST, this might be tricky timing for some folks, but I promise to post here with more details before the celebration.

oh man.

Oh man.

I caught three of this fish, right? it's worth 10k bells. Three of them. I put one in the museum, and I sold the other two, paid off my mortgage, bought a bunch of cool stuff, and pressed power before I saved, in the excitement of catching a fourth awaba (or whatever they're called).

I'm upset.

(Then I plaid for another two hours and didn't catch any of the big expensive fish, but I have paid off my first mortgage. damnit)

Oh, no, I didn't meet a walrus, because that never saved. damnit.

I just got a super stylish DS lite in onyx and ACWW 2 days ago!

I am really enjoying the game, I don't have a friends ID yet but I am elijah of the town Tardis and will hopefully have FID to post this evening, I am GMT-7 but work at 8am local time, so if there are late night GMT folks I might catch them at the beginning of my shift.

I have peaches as a native fruit, found a coconut and was sent an orange by one of my neighbors.

I am also wearing a stylish safari hat.

Question: The town comments suggest I make the town greener, how do I do that? Also, no rain so far in my town, even though in the cab ride I said I like rain. I think I need a watering can because there are quite a few dead flowers but Nook isn't selling one.

Did anyone else get the Starfox DS ship to put in their house? It goes really well with my Nintendo bench.

I was hoping I wasn't the only one.

I'm still playing this game, but it's now become a much more relaxed prospect. I check in to see if I have any post, if anyone interesting's around, etc, but I don't worry so much about the mortgage (paid off) or the platinum card (not so far away).

I now have 2 orange tress, 2 pear trees, and 3 coconut trees along with all my peaches.

I like this game a great deal, and I like that I can hop on for 20 minutes a day and feel like I did something.

Hello everyone, I found my AC card after losing it for months. In the washing machine. Anyway, it works now. I have a new town after wiping the old one by accident, details on the page I did... coconuts? anything?

Fridge, My AC name is also elijah, and my town is Tardis.

I get off of work at 5pm local time, which is about midnight UK time if I did my math right (US Mountain Time here, but we just went into daylight savings, so I don't know how that changes things). Anyway, if you want to meet up I can get on my wifi this evening and hook you up with some fruit.

My partner has this game and we've both been playing it quite a lot, it's lovely, and nice change from the face-shooting and mushroom hopping. She'd love to have someone over, her details are:

I've finished the first full draft of my Masters thesis about ACWW and have taken a sufficient hiatus from the game. After that cool-down period, I'm ready to play again (though I shudder to think about how many roaches will be infesting my home when I finally fire it up after a month lying dormant!). I'd love visitors, or paying someone else a visit. I might scan for you, John, if I get a chance later on tonight.

Hm, I can't seem to find anyone and I really need to get some sleep... oh well, I'll leave my gates open, anyone who wants, er, well, some apples really, that's about all I have, I sold my coconuts. Other fruit would be nice; I should have a peach tree in a bit. Any Lovely stuff you have as well....

Does anyone know if people can visit your town when the DS is closed?

Elijah, Freelance Rabbi
21:48 / 06.11.06
I don't know about visiting while closed, I have been unable to visit anyone yet.

I should be home in about 30 minutes and I will try to come see you. I can bring Oranges and Pears and if you arent around I'll just leave them by the gate.

I would love to take an apple or two home with me.

You can't visit people's towns when their DS is closed unless, allegedly, it's in contact mode, but that's a whole different kettle of fish.

I have all the fruits apart from banana. Has anyone else had a banana? *Stupidly* Do they even grow on trees?
