Aeon-Flux. Argh! I had a friend whom just earlier this evening taunted (bragged?) me with the fact taht she will be picking it up on Monday.

And what the hell did they do to the cartoon? The movie.. I really dont know

Yeah... having access to Aeon w/o having to resort to some crap quality video of the series on my hard drive is much better. I couldn't justify buying into a used ebay copy for years cuz it was too cost prohibitive. Glad they finally came around to producing it.

The transfer is clean and there is a bit of commentary to go on which is good. Some decent gallery images and sketches as well as some clips of the old Liquid Television programming (the vintage postcard narrator "Ay Ma.", Invisible Hands, etc.) It's awesome to see again but I doubt there'll ever be a DVD of that.

So yeah... a fix you need to quench - but never fail, the weekend lies in betw you and a possible viewing it seems. Get up on it.

Alright, Oddman is joining the Late-Shifting fray this evening to bring you news that you would not have heard elsewhere:

My team and I just played a brilliant basketball game, and we walked away with a gold medal. Yep. Pretty sweet.

Congratulations very tall, athletic boyz. Only my Scottish coal mining genes have stopped me flourishing in the field of athletics too, you know. I coulda been a contender... ...or at least fitted into the necessary sportswear.

is anyone awake?

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
00:57 / 05.12.05
Yeah, I'm awake. At work, but it's Sunday night, so I'm not incredibly busy. And my week off starts in oooh, about four hours... three if I'm lucky...

How's the teaching/grading thang going down?

alas
01:10 / 05.12.05
How's grading? Well, it's going "Ouch." I think the thing for me is that I find sentences like this (I'll make one up, only slightly exaggerated) to be physically painful: "In the literature of which one is speaking of, reader's who take the view of a deconstructionist literary critic may find that one cannot be sure that they have read the same text as the other reader's may have encountered."

Hi all. As its near Xmas I give you the gift of the magesImage hosted by Photobucket.com

Hee hee. Ah, Keggers, thanks as usual for the welcome distraction from this tortured prose.

Here's the most terrifying thing of all: I started to put an apostrophe in "thanks" just now. My deepest fears realised.

01:42 / 05.12.05
You should print out a copy of Bob's Quick Guide to the Apostrophe, You Idiots!

alas
01:44 / 05.12.05
I have used that lovely guide in the past, I think on your suggestion. They don't seem to find it funny. They, in fact, sometimes seem to take offense.

Sekhmet
01:47 / 05.12.05
'Lo all.

Saint Keggers
01:47 / 05.12.05
You didnt print it out, roll it up and continuouslyhit them with it, all the while yelling "That's not how you use an apostrophy, YOU IDIOT!", did you? 'cause I think I'd get offended too.

alas
01:51 / 05.12.05
Nope, I just emailed it to them and read it aloud. They seemed a little miffed. I do try to be gentle with their egos. Leggo my ego, they say.

Sekhmet
01:51 / 05.12.05
alas, don't feel too bad. After all, that would be fine if you meant "thank is" or if you were talking about something that belonged to thank.

Sekhmet
01:52 / 05.12.05
Not really applicable tho.

alas
01:57 / 05.12.05
I know. I know. But I find, after gradin'g a stack of essay's, that I want to put apostrophe's in entirely rando'm word's! Its s'not my fault! The student's! The students!

Saint Keggers
01:59 / 05.12.05
hehehe... I can only imagine how madening that mu'st be.

Sekhmet
02:01 / 05.12.05
gaaaaack...

Although, even that isn't as bad as this thing people are doing now where they use quotation marks for emphasis. Like big signs that say "SALE".

Either they're being insincere... or they're quoting another sign.

alas
02:03 / 05.12.05
I'm pretty sure you mean mus't.

Ah, well. I will survive. Just two more, tonight.

Ooh, more Mages! cool!

Having said I wasn't very busy, it turned out we'd forgotten to read two whole papers' worth of supplements plus a whole bunch of sports sections... so I've just read those really really fast. NOW I'm not so busy... but my brain hurts.

Welcome back, Stoat. Sorry your brain hurts. Join us here at the Hurtbrain Hotel.

I've been so addled, baby . . .

My brains hurt too, but I think it's because I have a sinus infection.

Le sigh. Le snort.

Herbal tea is probably a good plan. What sort?
