Ah! Glad I could help, Shrug. Speaking of Diana Wynn Jones, I just saw Howl's Moving Castle today and it was fucking ace. Where'd you get the audiobook from?

Suedey, I'm just listening to Dylan too.

I just saw Howl's Moving Castle today

Can I touch you?

iamus
00:22 / 26.09.05
Please! I've been touching me ever since the credits rolled.

I think it's going to be one of my favourite Ghiblis. Up there with Totoro and Castle in the Sky. I really want to go again. Maybe watch the English dub this time.

An e-book hub on DC++. I don't make a habit of downloading books in this way though I just usually browse them to see if I'll buy them IRL. The narrator is especially annoying though but I find it hard to listen to audiobooks generally anyway.
I had a look for your Mirror horror story to return the favour but could only come up with an episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark? I don't think it's that one somehow.

Ah, yeah. I meant to respond inthread to that link. Don't think it's the one. I'm beginning to give up hope of ever finding it, unless I manage to corner ITV Head of Children's Programming 1990-? at a party somewhere.

Was it British made? Although AYAOTD? and Goosebumps were on ITV I think there was a third British made horror series made.
One had an episode where a boy trys to convince his sister to have a conciliatory meeting with a mutual friend. All through the episode you think "Oh they just had a fight". Eventually she concedes and goes to a graveyard. Initially she is angry and screams "Why can't you leave me Alone!" the big reveal comes when she adds "I can't be your friend anymore you've been dead for over a year". Spark any memories? The same series perhaps?

Don't remember that. I think it was British made, but I can't be 100%

I remember that his pal's been reading up on it and comes across a story of somebody else who smashed one of those mirrors. He calls him up and tells him not to do it, but he hangs up and goes toward it with a hammer. The pal runs to the house as fast as he can, but the door gets answered by the evil mirror doppleganger.

I found it really hard to go anywhere near a mirror for some time after seeing that.

Jesus Christ. I have no idea what happened there.

A sextuple posting.

That might be a Barbelith record.

I'm off to hide my head in shame.

Night.

Eh goodnight then Meludreen was distracted by something else. Sorry I couldn't help out. Fear not about the sextuple post the late-shift keeps all secrets.

The Return Of Rothkoid
04:51 / 26.09.05
I dunno about that. I heard it on the phone to News Of The World earlier.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK

I know it's not late anymore, but I believe the programme you are looking for is ITV's Dramarama: Spooky. And some of them were deeply, deeply scary.

Let's get shifty, kids!

Eeeee! Who is that and why is he looking at me?!

iamus
21:39 / 26.09.05
Apparently, he is Shifty.

I think he had a song a couple of years back that really, really got on my tits.

iamus
22:05 / 26.09.05
Pah. That's not the post rate of a true Shifter.

You don't really want to get shifty. You just say you do.

Suedey! SHOT FOR MEAT!

Pffft! That didn't refresh properly at all! So I got beans on toast. They were nice. They were really nice.

iamus
22:23 / 26.09.05
I got a peanut butter sandwich and two fun-size bounties.

The bounties were good, but you'll have to wait a minute or two for the full report on the sandwich.

And shifty could scare anyone away, I think. But I was here! Hitting refresh like a true shifter! But no, no, my computer let me down once again!

I kick thee, computer! You hurt my toe.

Suedey! SHOT FOR MEAT!
22:25 / 26.09.05
Fun-size is the best size, because it means you can have way more!

I'm not ashamed to say one of the best days of my life was spent eating fin-size mars bars, drinking coke, and reading The Essential Spider-Man volume 4.

I just don't mention it much.

THE SIZE OF FINS!

Suedey! SHOT FOR MEAT!
22:28 / 26.09.05
And just to, drunkenly, elaborate further - it was one of those days where, however tiny and unimportant, the thing you're doing is just the exact thing you feel like you should be doing.

Ahhh. Good times.

iamus
22:28 / 26.09.05
Fishy? Or sea-dwelling Mammal?
Anyway, take thee to the corner, Suedey's computer.

So as always, I'm loving arty lateshifts, sorry i missed out on the arty bit of the last two nights. Bed Head, if you're listening, you make me jealous too.

Withiel: DALI'S ROTTWEILER
22:29 / 26.09.05
I probably shouldn't be up, but I am. So there, Shifty, you have failed to dissuade me. Ahaha. I counter your shifty with SHIFTER!

iamus
22:31 / 26.09.05
Damn!

Nobody outshifts Jenny Everywhere! Ultra-dimensional lady. Divine mother of all that shifts.

Suedey! SHOT FOR MEAT!
22:34 / 26.09.05
Whatevs.

I'll shift her out of house and home!

No, I don't really know what I mean, either. Did you watch the first half of the Dylan doc, Mel?

iamus
22:36 / 26.09.05
I saw about half an hour of it, but I have the rest on tape. It was looking good from what I saw. I'll sit down with it once the second half has been taped too.

Was it as good as it was looking?

iamus
22:37 / 26.09.05
Oh, and I'll shift you.

I'll shift you good.

Suedey! SHOT FOR MEAT!
22:41 / 26.09.05
It was pretty interesting, I think mainly because I really didn't know anything about it, in a way. Bit of an HISTORY lesson for me, there.

Oh, and I'll shiv you.

I'll shiv you up nice.

iamus
22:45 / 26.09.05
I'll take some scissors and mullet you over with talk like that.

That's mullet as in fish as in fins. Capiche?

iamus
22:47 / 26.09.05
And that's salmon and broccoli capiche. Oven-baked until the crusts are brown and the eggy pie-bit is nice and moist.
