Suedey! SHOT FOR MEAT!
22:02 / 24.09.05

Wait for nine pages on the old one, are you kidding? I'm ready now! THAT'S RIGHT SIR.

Oooh. Nice work, Suedey.

Are you well, stranger? Let us talk of Great Things. For at least until Battlestar Galactica arrives. And probably beyond! You’re worth a thousand season finales.

Suedey! SHOT FOR MEAT!
22:22 / 24.09.05
YAY!

Suedey! SHOT FOR MEAT!
22:25 / 24.09.05
Sorry, I will say more.

I'm quite alright thankyewverymuch. Aside from petty relationship dramas and the like. It's all very exciting and dull!

How are yoooou? Let us commence the talk of GREAT THINGS, for GREAT THINGS must be spoken of.

I am listening to the new Kate Bush single, and I rather like it.

Suedey! SHOT FOR MEAT!
22:26 / 24.09.05
And also: what the hell have you been up to? And yes, this means show me pictorial evidence. Like, RIGHT NOW.

Actually, I have been drawing today, too. This very afternoon! If my scanner warms up before BSG arrives, I may even show. Also if I’ve posted enough fluff to put some space between anything of mine and that first post of yours. It’s all dependant on a celestial conjunction-type thing, really. Also factor in my mood, which is fluctuating wildly. Things look different when they're scanned.

I am listening to Radio 4, as per usual.

Yes. So. GREAT THINGS.

Suedey! SHOT FOR MEAT!
22:41 / 24.09.05
My scanner is unfortunately moody at the moment, and insists on scanning everything in some sort of dull tone. Somebody mentioned perhaps the bulb is gone, but I don't really understand these things and shall thus wait until I can get my dad to look at it.

Does this fit under the GREAT THINGS category? I think not. I am feeling the pressure! You can sneak a peak at (half of) that whole page here though.

Um, great things... uh... Bob Dylan? I'm quite looking forward to that massive documentary about him next week. Although I get a bit annoyed at all these things I keep reading about TEH GENIUS!!!1 I mean, sure, he was a talented guy. He's like Keats, y'know? An actual poet! But what annoys me about the whole thing is this inherent thinking that NOBODY CAN EVER BE BETTER. I mean, ok, this applies to more than just him. But it bugs me a bit. Possibly because I feel I'm passed that age when you get to be declared a genius, you've gotta be like, 17 or something when you do your first major work. Kate Bush, she's another one! All these young genius motherfuckers!

Can you even start playing a sport professionally when yr over 19? I still dream of playing Wimbledon in a nice pair of trousers and a Fred Perry. Unofortunately I can't play tennis.

Can you even start playing a sport professionally when yr over 19?

Probably the best time to start playing pocket billiards.

Anyway, good evening all. I have a question: has anyone else ever been prescribed diazepam? I've been given the lowest dose possible to relax my spasming back and feel utterly ripped to the tits after three doses. It apparently stays in your system for about a week, too. It terrifies me that there are millions of people in this country taking this stuff on a regular basis in much higher doses and, even worse, many of them get into cars and drive on it.

Sorry, baby. Was scanning and hosting and suchlike.

The Dylan thing, well, I am teh Big Dylan Fan, so I’m rather looking forward to it. The really genius thing about young Dylan was his hair, so lots of footage of frizzly Bob waving his GIANT HAIR around the place is definitely going to be a good thing. That and Joan Baez.

And I dunno, I don’t think he *was* a genius, really. He was just different. That’s the best thing in the world to be, and it’s really fucking easy.

So, go for it w/the Fred Perry wearing, Wimbledon-playing plan. That’d certainly be a good kind of different. Wimbledon seems to be full of ginormous 18-year old hunks, grunting and whooping. And Tim.

Cube, I have no idea about diazepam. Sorry. I’m sure someone will, though.

Well, number four is now kicking in and it's time to sleep. Night.

Gosh. Drugs, eh? Sleep well.

Suedey! SHOT FOR MEAT!
11:24 / 25.09.05
Oops. I went and fell asleep, didn't I? Don't we get to see anything after all that time spent scanning and hosting, BH? Gawwwan!

The young Dylan's hair does seem to be impressive! I'm excited about actually watching the thing, rather than reading more of the awful fawning which I found in the Radio Times. Although most of that was from good old Andy Motion, the king of poetry.

That and watching sport has made me go "Shit! I'll be 24 soon and I haven't, y'know... done anything". I mean really, all these football teams with 19-22 year old players. There should be a league where everyone is older than you, or something. I keep thinking about people who might only discover their natural sporting talent at 20 or something, and how they'd never have a chance...

Pointless babbling aside, I've taken some diazepam in my time. I'm with you on this one! I honestly don't know how anyone does anything on a lot of prescribed drugs. For me it was more - take drugs - "aieee!" - stop taking drugs - "Oh thank god for that".

Oh, you.

Er, so, its not finished. I’m starting lots and not finishing much lately. But, here. Coffee and biscuits:

...It’s not for a comic, obviously. It’s for a poster for someone. You'll need to mentally add background, colour, words, etc. And I really need to fix that foreshortening. And, er, some other stuff. I should be doing all that now, in fact. What on Earth am I doing online?

We shall talk of GREAT THINGS later, no doubt.

Suedey, that pic reminds me of Chloe and Lana from Smallville. Nicely dont. I need coffee. Its only 12:36 in the afternoon here so this feels all odd.

Suedey! SHOT FOR MEAT!

Ok BH, that picture is fucking fantastic. I shall hear none of yr whining! Be sure to show the finished version! Them's some beautiful, vibrant lines. It sort of looks like you drew it the way I wish I could draw. Like you just sat down and went at it, rather than my boring (and lazy) painstaking idiocy. Sometimes, you see, I feel like I'm not really drawing at all. Like it's just some sort of elaborate trick, putting together silly equations or something, scribbling out diagrams and not actually flowing in to any sort of drawing. More like maths than drawing. I don't know why I think drawing should be like that, because it's not necessarily the case, but what I'm saying is your picture looks like that and thus: HURRAH!

I'm with you on the starting lots of things and not finishing, though. "This idea is excellent!" ... "...eh, maybe another day." And in fact, the only thing I seem to be finishing is something I'm not particularly sure I should have even bothered with, or will even make sense to anyone. But oh well.

Your comparison is actually a bit freaky, Keggers! Because yeah, you're right! Although the dark haired girl is actually based on a picture of a friend of mine. I should have finished this page by later tonight, for whatever that's worth...

Oh, Suedey, you are fab. But, that you should ever feel like yr not really drawing - *splutter* dude, your stuff always looks so solid and real; mine just looks like lines. I mean, I like lines, but still I wish I could make things look like you do, man.

I know what you mean about stuff feeling more like maths than drawing, though. Heh. I do know that feeling.

But, yes, still, HURRAH! Because it’s ever so nice to hear nice things on a la-zy Sunday afternoon.

I had pie last night. Is that 'nice things on a la-zy Sunday afternoon.' enough for ya? It was apple.

And I'm done! A pleasant Sunday all round, methinks.

Dude... uh, that's it. But you can pretend, if you like.

That one girl can...uh... transform in to a flying badger.

It would've been worse if I'd said beaver.

ONLY NICE THINGS
21:50 / 25.09.05
Hello, kittens. Suedey - nice work, as ever. How are you distributing? I saw MacGuyver's "Beau and Me" this weekend as well, which was very pretty. We have some really talented artists on Barbelith...

Tasty stuff, Mr. Suede.

Suedey! SHOT FOR MEAT!

I am distributing through the time honoured means of doing nothing and just hoping against all reason.

(I'll probably use this page as part of a compilation-type comic I am ever so slowly putting together, at which point I hope to thrust it upon people and ask for money.)

I very much like it Suedey. The sparse dialogue packs a punch and also leads you to appreciate the expressive inking.

I always feel like I know his people, and would probably like them.

Yeah, that's one of the things I really like about Suedey's work. There's a whole lot of humanity in it. I want to hug them.

'Lo all! Anyone?

'Lo Mel,
I've just been peaking at Hollyoaks Unleashed from behind a book. It's a bit awful Hollyoaks not the book (which is brilliant).
Archer's Goon in audiobook has recently appeared on my PC BTW thanks for that.

I'm just here to say I'm going to bed with a big ol' grin, and listening to this Bob Dylan tape I used to listen to when I was 17.

Oh yes.

Forgive the construction of the above post I'm a bit tired.
