"in tomorrow's Sun, a reader writes"

Isn't that a contradiction? I thought they just looked at the pictures?
Seriously I'm always suspicious of readers pages in the tabloids. What's to stop PR people doing it?

That DIY snowflake malarkey is making me wish I had some artistic ability.
Any other new ones Keggers?

On the internet no-one can hear you scream.

Damnation sure I hid an eighth... somewhere.

Keggers I was thinking of your sniper scope wizard from a few pages back.

How's life treating you all?

Saint Keggers
22:15 / 28.07.05
Inchoate: nope, no new ones. Right now I'm just getting them all together and next week (If I have enough of them) will be going to a printers to see how much it'd cost to get a book printed.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK

ooh! If you do, I'll definitely buy one.

Jack Denfeld

Like hardback? I know we had some discussions on comic format printint in the comic forum under "creating your own comics" or some similar title.

I'd definitely buy one.

Suedey! SHOT FOR MEAT!

I'd buy two! TWO!

Thanks for saying the pic is nice, guys. I got distracted by watching the end of season 4 of Buffy, which seems to have taken up most of my day. Not just watching the end, mind. That's just taking up the evening.

I'm a little worried that today most of what I've eaten consists of 10 cookies and 4 donuts. And I'm not talking little cookies, I'm talking those big soft motherfuckers.

No, I think hardback would be too expensive. Most likely it would be in colour with 2 comics situated side by side per page, with a nice glossy cover. I have no clue how feasible this would be to do. Its all still in the idea stage.

Also: here is another, bigger, pic for you to wrap your peepers around.

You should definitely do it, Kegs, printing my own comic was possibly the best thing I have ever done in my life. That might be untrue, but I'm absolutely positively certain that it would be worthwhile for you.

Jack Denfeld
22:26 / 28.07.05
Suedey, that's you?! WHy did I think you were just posting pics from a favorite web comic all this time? That's beautiful man.

Withiel: DALI'S ROTTWEILER
22:29 / 28.07.05
Suedey, that's...er...heartwrenchingly beautiful, if I'm honest. Absolutely gorgeous.

I may go off and cry a bit now.

Jack Denfeld
22:29 / 28.07.05
Keggers, I think your stuff could take off big. It's ripe for toys, calenders, and all sorts of cross promotional goodies. Oh, if I were an agent I would hook all of you up.

I didna know that was your own work suedey.

*nods approvingly, then gets all jealous*

By Jack, I must be good at something?

Ooooh, thanks guys! I'm thinking of sending that one to people with a note that says "give me money" attatched to it.

Just for fun, like.

Saint Keggers
22:39 / 28.07.05
Um...any idea how many cartoons I need to have in the book?

Jack Denfeld
22:40 / 28.07.05
Get a cartoon book for comparison. Maybe a Calvin and Hobbes or Peanuts.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK

While we're at it, Jack, I want a Nimrod Good Robot T-shirt.

Saint Keggers
22:46 / 28.07.05
Well a Garfield one was over 128 pages with 2 comics per page. Crap. It may be years before I have enough to fill something like that.

Suedey! SHOT FOR MEAT!
22:47 / 28.07.05
You don't have to make one that big!

Saint Keggers
23:05 / 28.07.05
Yeah, but the public has got to get its moneys worth.

Suedey! SHOT FOR MEAT!
23:10 / 28.07.05
And that moneys worth could well be in a quality 24, or possibly 48 pages! For serious.

Just do it! See how much you've got, and just put it out there. Just price it so you should be able to get your money back from the printing, and see what the response is...

I got an e-mail the other day, from somebody who had bought one of my (mere 100 print run) comics, and I had them done well over a year ago now. I had much worthwhile feedback, and really... I should do that again. Now.

Ever since I heard Mark use this phrase in trainspotting instead of "No problem" I've often tried to use it as a "No problem" substitute myself. But generally people just look at me funny.

Just got back from mine. Absolute nightmare of a day today. Too many customers, not enough staff, misplaced orders, spilt drinks, doing stuff in the heat of the moment that I've not been trained for. People were arriving for karaoke while other people were still to eat. Nasty. Nasty. Nasty.

On the upside, my tips were decent and it was the karaoke semi-final, so the usual strangled cat cacophony was replaced with people who could really belt it out. One guy did "I'm a believer" and cheered up my night right there.

That's great! When I was working the comic shop in the mall one sunday (sundays being the slowest days there just about) they had an Elvis impersonator thing, and I got to see all these great Elvises singing Elvis songs all day. What do you do at your work?
