Hey, all.... Gosh, a few days without lateshifting and it goes to twelve pages!

I'm drinking an herbal tea. Yesterday my partner and I made a fabulous cassoulet with duck and some very garlicky chicken and herb sausages. With duck cracklins and bread crumbs on top! Damn! It was good. I even made a Bouquet Garni!

I was so proud of myself, because really it was rather complicated. Of course, apparently you're supposed to use duck confit, but who can just run out and find preserved duck at the drop of a hat?

hey, my partner is interested in joining barbelith. kinda freaks me out, but I kinda like the idea, too. . . it's just strange because this has always been "my place." So having him here would be, well, just different. And he'd see me here as "alas" not the mostly the same but a little different of course person i am when i'm with him. makes me feel kinda goofy. but curious. have any of you done something similar at any point?

Hard sauce is basically whipped butter and sugar with a hint of vanilla. I would eat it by itself, without the cakey thing it was supposed to go on, when I was a kid.

Ooh,ooh...Here it is! With hard sauce recipe, too!

Seems I forgot to mention the brandy. At least now I know why I liked it so much!
