According to some online resource thingy that someone pulled up a couple years back, "grog" was actually... um... watered-down ale. Named after a captain who wore a grogham shirt, and was known as "captain Grog", iirc, who didn't want his crew shitfaced the whole time.
Of course, as all us true pirates know, grog's actually the manliest drink on the Seven Seas, and the above is just foul ninja propaganda. |
