Another interesting thing that may have been a clue about Sublime is at the end of Germ Free Generation just before Sublime falls from the skyscraper. Martha's entered his brain, and is trying to make him let go of Emma. John says "you can't KILL...ka-kill...kill...Oh, right. Kill me's good." In context, that dialogue can indicate that Martha's changing his mind for him. But now it looks like he's being literal - Martha can't kill him.

I think I understand... but hmmm How does Martha NOT kill him? I thought she was telepathic?

Well, John Sublime obstensibly dies when Martha makes him let go of Emma and fall from the skyscraper. If the Sublime from Here Comes Tomorrow is the same guy (and especially if its who I think it is), then he didn't die in that scene, just the body holding him.

So why, if Martha stored Sublime's mind and put it into Beast, is Martha still with the X-gang?

Is she still a mole? Or are we totally off course?

I don't think Martha is at all a villain. I think she's just someone who has been horribly abused and exploited by Sublime, and is now seeking refuge with the X-Men. She's a tragic character - a teenage full-body amputee. I think she's meant to be a sympathetic character.

I'm not sure where you're getting the Martha-storing-Sublime's-mind-and-putting-it-in-Beast thing from.

"Sublime" isn't necessarily something that can BE contained anyway. He's a composite consciousness who uses human as well as mutant bodies to interact with the world. He's a little like Jean splitting Xavier into mutant minds, a little like Weapon 12, and a little like the Phoenix Force.

Martha may be a sympathetic character, but we'll see.

Woah... both of you. Thats a leap isn't it? From human cult leader to psychic entity (oh god its shadow king/bogan/apocalypse again)...

Its grant don't forget, it has to be deceptively simple. W'll be kicking ourselves that we didn't see it before, whatever it is.

Does anyone know where I can get a really good scan of the "let's go to work" two page spread from this ish? I crave a poster version.
