I received the book last Friday, had it ready to pass along two days later, and PM'd and emailed Kwende over the week. When I received no response I sent it on to Baz on this past Friday. Apparently Kwende will be in Toronto this coming Thursday, Baz, and I've let him know to contact you.

So much fuss and bother about the book...am thinking how exciting it must be to know there is a book coming some day some time...and what its pages will hold..

surely the last person should return to the first so it goes around alll over again so everyone can enjoy it in its entirety... that will bee a nice treat for you all in the old folks home... a pleasant change from chips and peas on fridays and new pants on mondays.

So. To get this straight, because I’m a little hazy on this...

KwendeCentral was handed the book, in person, over a month ago. And he has since disappeared. Also, we don’t have any address for KC, so we can’t all go round to his house and just ask where our book is. Is this really it, pretty much?

Ok, so, yeah: like he said. Anyone with any bright ideas at this point that don’t involve just sitting around and waiting, or anyone who actually knows KwendeCentral, PM Baz. Please.

I believe the status on the Book is: KwendeCentral has it and he has disappeared and is unreachable...at least for now.

There might be the possibility that this book is in fact, gone. In that case, what would 'lithers like to do? Begin again? Maybe entrust one person to compile it? Or have groups? I don't know...I am just throwing out ideas.

May, there's a second book thread here - it was originally meant as a second book starting in the UK. It's not moving any faster than the old one, but we do still know where it is!

Yes, I am aware of this other book, but I was suggesting that we may need to replace the original one with a new book. It would be sent to all those people who had already made their pages in the first one to redo. There was some very interesting contributions in it from BitchieKittie, Qalyn, Abigail Blue, Keggers, Baz, Moriarty, myself etc...

It won't be the same, but just ignoring the efforts already made and not attempting to do anything to recapture it, is rather an unnecessary loss.

I sort of do. On the 29/05/04 he sent me a PM in reply to one I sent saying "Wherethefuckingfuckfuckisthewanderingnotebook?" (only I was a bit nicer) in which he said this rather sweet thing:

(Kwende - sorry to post a PM from you up on the site, only we're all a bit antsy now about where the book actually is and I thought it migh help to reassure people a bit...)

Fuck it. I don't care about unfair, I just keep thinking about a/the people who have already had the book and did lovely things in it, and b/all the people that haven't had it, but wanted to.

Previously in the thread, Baz said that KwendeCentral's full name and city were known. Although KwendeCentral has apparently recently moved, KwendeCentral may have made it into the phonebook by now? Has someone in Canada checked that yet? If not, maybe we could search on the web for his name, and try to find him like that, or at least, someone who knows him?

What we know about KwendeCentral:

Lived in Ottawa, moved to Toronto.
Is at school.
May have smoked cigars with Baz Auckland.
Likes comics (Is there a cigar stall at the comic club at the school he's at, or anything like that?)

If we know his name and we know he's at school, how many schools are there in Toronto? Who fancies ringing up the school secretaries posing as his old, very stupid school secretary with files to foward but unfortunately no forwarding address for pupil **** ******.

The school secretaries will say either: "Yes, it's this school, and here's the address" or "We don't have a pupil by that name here, are you sure you've got the right school?"

A good plan, no?

What the hell we do with the address after we find out which school he's at is someone else's problem...
