Very glad that you're intact! I'm listening to Nina Simone because it seems right to remember her in some way.

Damn. I have to write an 11 page screenplay tonight. I've been putting it off forever. I have high enough marks in the class that I can probably pass without writing it, but I don't want to take the chance.

The worst part is that I do not think writing a screenplay for a cartoon is at all necessary, but I seem to be really good at it. I hope I never have to do it again.

wow, that sucks, i have like a 10 page paper due in a week, and i need to make a web page about archeology for another class.

and it turns out a winchester .300 rifle leaves a hella bruise on your arm if you dont hold it right.

I got three pages done, and it's looking good, but I am so disinterested in this. I have a 95 in the class, and considering marks don't mean anything in this course, I'm going to hand it in late. The final assignment in my main class is at least 100 pages and if I don't do well I won't be back next year. Blah.

But at least I don't have to write a paper with a bum gun arm. Count my blessings.

And I've been doing the late night insomniac thing for the last few hours only to find all the rest of those buggers would appear to be asleep...

Ahhh, the Xfm breakfast show, it eases the pain...

Bollocks. I had something written and then it went. Fuck it.

I'm going to fail Psych for reasons that I can readily attribute to be someone else's fault and not my own, and then I will go to Brighton which sounds sounds ideal but isn't really and I'll cry a lot and blah blah fishcakes.

Plus my legs don't work from walking too much with a coat in my bag. Weight distrbution was never one of my strong points...

It'll be okay, you've got time and should you get relegated to Brighton you will find a way!

I am nicotine starved, having had two cigarettes at around 8am and nothing since, I have one left. Thankfully it's a Marlboro Red- yay! I've also managed to get through the whole day without brushing my hair once and it's getting disgustingly tangled up.

Ellis says:

I was up at six with my trapped nerve muttering in pain to myself, and waking up all the people I work with text messages saying "I won't be in today, sorry."

In the end I ran out of cigarettes (about 9.30am) so loaded up on painkillers went out to the shop and ended up at work whereI spent most of the day standing outside smoking, and only half of it actually in the office working.

Halfheartedly reading something about Perpetual Peace by Kant.

Well I'm putting off smoking until my parents have gone to sleep. They're not actually here at the moment, so I could have my last cigarette quite comfortably, but I'm putting it off because I don't quite need it.

Ellis says:
21:17 / 23.04.03
I have no cigarettes left, I have cigars though, but they hurt my chest.

21:19 / 23.04.03
With cigars, aren't you only meant to take the smoke into your throat rather than your lungs? I read somewhere... perhaps that's why your chest hurst?

Ellis says:
21:24 / 23.04.03
Kit-Kat you are correct. I just like the feeling of smoke hitting the back of my throat.

Tryphena Absent
21:41 / 23.04.03
I always take cigar smoke in to my lungs... it's just an impulse reaction and what the hell's the point of smoking if you don't absorb the drugs?

Ellis says:
21:45 / 23.04.03
Exactly, you gotta take it down or else... it's like chewing food and not swallowing!

Great now I want a cigar and I keep eating but that's probably a good thing. I realised that in the space of 48 hours I ate 3 sandwiches, a burger and half a slice of chocolate cake and was secretly living off caffeine and cigarettes. Insane.

I've been using eating as a displacement activity all day (I'm writing again - replacing the stuff that got lost when my computer crashed last Friday - I told my supervisor I'd have it in today, oh well, never mind eh). I've eaten about seven apples, a KitKat, half a box of After Eights and four pieces of toast, and I've written about three thousand proper words, five hundred words of footnotes and another two thousand words which need sorting out a lot. So only another four and a half thousand to go. Nearly run out of apples though...

Mmmm, after- eights! They're so Christmassy!

Yeah - I don't know why Mum and Dad insist on giving me After Eight Easter eggs when they are so patently unseasonable. Was very disappointed this year to discover that my mother had decided that my sister and I were too old to care about easter cake decoration, and had therefore only put baked marzipan on top (with eleven marzipan balls representing the apostles of course) when as everyone knows the only correct method is with a little bit of icing and a nest made of Flake and mini eggs and the apostles round the edge. 'Tain't right (but it was still nice).

Evening all. About to hit sack... but have had a productive and yet also non-productive day. Non-productive in terms of proper work; productive in terms of handing my dissertation in, finding a lovely free program that makes PDFs, getting a pretty fucking awesome haircut (never thought I'd say that in my life), eating the best homemade burgers ever, and sending off my first work experience application.

Now to get on with properworkandrevisionandargh.

You know the feeling.

Kit-Cat, your diet today sounds lovely. More apples! More apples! I only got six little eggs for me and friends. They lasted a long while. More to the point, Easter Cake sounds good. Good luck with the work, and all...

I meant to write and say well done on finishing the dissertation, but in usual rubbish manner haven't done it yet, so well done, old chap - jolly good show (proffers cigarette case)

You Oxbridge folks are so bloody pretentious. Cigarette case indeed!

Dudes - I'm off for "chat" with employer tomorrow, so should be off to bed, but after last night have had a quiet drink and a few fags. Lord, Tuesday was heavy; hope I didn't act too much like a squamous goon at evening's end. Too much beer. Too many fags. Filthbeer and filthfags.

On the bright side, did anyone see the Man U - Madrid match? Absolutely astonishing. Only a penalty, a sending-off and a dog on the pitch could have improved it...

23:12 / 23.04.03
Why was Tuesday heavy though? Doesn't sound too good... hope it goes well tomorrow. Or as well as can be expected.

Anna, it was a metaphorical cigarette case, I don't really have one... though I don't think there's anything wrong with them with the correct attire. I do have some snuff somewhere, I could proffer that, but I think it might be a bit dry.

ONLY NICE THINGS
23:15 / 23.04.03
I have a couple of cigarette cases - one silver and one black, depending on outfit. Although the silver one is now pretty much totalled and GODDAMN IT I'M MEANT TO BE QUITTING.

Ahem.

Tryphena Absent
23:58 / 23.04.03
I'm just metaphorically jealous because I need- not want- a silver-plated, engraved case.

Haus- I think we all had too much filthbeer, too many filthfags and you were a terrible goon but it was fun and I can't say I was in a state fit to properly notice. Can you lend me the Carrington? Hope the "chat" isn't too traumatic.

I just found my third meal of the say: icecream hidden in the back of the freezer. Well, I say icecream but it was pretty poor to start with (sugar, milk powder, food colouring) and it's been there so long that the ice crystals are amazing. Hexagonal. Very pretty.

I do feel like an odd-one-out, not smoking and all. Anna at some point I think you should aquire a nice cigarette holder, rather than just one made of plastic. Maybe a bit shorter in length too.

I must run back to studying, but I have to add that I read all your posts tonight thinking what are these people doing up so late? Haus has a job chat tomorrow and it's 7am and he hasn't slept?...and then I realised that the Barbelith Clock is GMT, not Eastern....

...it gave the whole conversation a fun light though...

its 8 am and i havent really slept, i think its all the ephedrine i ate last night. Swapping one drug for another doesnt really count as quitting does it...

THe biggest problem with ending up in Brighton (yes, I'm harking back very far in this thread, and yes, other then the horrible, soul-crushing tempral and geographical distance from my girlfriend) is the fact that I have no garunteed houseing there.

So I get to find myself a place to live. Cheap. In Brighton. Really cheap. IN BRIGHTON.
