Oh how I wish for a night job! (Im far more creative at night and tend to reach my peak near 4 am.) Actually, any job would be good right about now. Must find a way to 'get rich quick'.

I think I'll stick with the ice and snow. Florida's winter heat was as bad as I could ever want it.

You could have conversation, Anna my dear...but you could also have flying viking kittens performing Electric Six's Gay Bar.

For what it's worth, I feel terrible about propagating that link.

Oh, I've seen it already sweetiekins, my housemate is an Electric Six lover but thank you for the attempt to entertain bored little me!

So you've also seen the George Bush and Tony Blair version? Alas...

So, fallign back on conversation, for a little while before I sleep at least, how goes all?

I'm on page 107 of the It's Bliss classic Ben's in Love... with two girls (who just happen to be sisters). Beautiful.

Is it not mighty? That's before you even consider that Claire and Nina are already reeling from Claire's unexpected support of Nina when she accused her Uncle Mark of nonceration in the previous book. And that in turn is before we confront the horror of _pin being Zoe Passmore.

So, from a position of wisdom, am I in fact Ben, or Claire? Or is there a further, hideous option?

Ach - further postponed redundancy chat taking place tomorrow. The urge to do the whole thing in drag is compelling, but where would I get the outfit at such short notice?

00:17 / 29.04.03
Well I'll begin with- Zoey, don't forget the Y! Very important Americanisation of a perfectly fine name.

You're probably not blind enough to be Ben who strikes me as a terribly boring character... I'm gonna have to go for a resounding Claire. She enjoys dramatic weather- do you? Clearly I am Nina because Ben reckons she is 'a trip' and hey, who wouldn't want to be one?

Always. In. Favour. Of. Drag. Clearly depends on the lateness of the 'chat'.

afternoon, which means the little black dress would be a little too "evening".

You are, of course, quite correct about Zoe*y* Pinsmore. By the way, speaking as a doyenne of all things sartorial, do you happen to know what the young people are wearing these days? Was thinking of starting a thread for Barbelith Young Team to throw about....

Oh no, LBD's all wrong for the afternoon, late April and slight rain would have to be tweeds.

Well by young people do you mean followers of high fashion, slightly subversive Avril fans or the real cheap and nasties? It's all canary yellow and flourescence right now.

Ye gods, surely not? Don't the young people wear jeans anymore? And drab tops? Ou sont les neiges d'antan?

Quality.

On reflection, by the way, I think I would probably be Ravenclaw. Pros: hard-workign, and as such of little narratological interest, and thus unlikely to be killed. Cons: recipient of Potter Lust. and, as such, anyone else who expresses even a passing interest in me would die horribly.

It's a tricky balancing act...

I've lately seen a horrible phenomenon referred to as "Whisker faded" jeans. Basically, they're faded where one's legs meet one's pelvis so that you have several lines pointing directly at your genitalia.

It's worse if there's glitter. So much worse.

Tryphena Absent
01:14 / 29.04.03
Yes, I see the Ravenclaw within you and I'm sure you can achieve the balance with little trouble. I still live in fear of being a Hufflepuff... I shall reject it and go for the evil house.

I too have seen the bad, ugly whisker jeans! (The word frightful comes to mind.)

Unfortunately, as much as I try and try to pretend there are no faults, you're perfectly right. Eek- it's almost June and that means new book and that means accelerated slash! Yay!

Just watched Donnie Darko for the first time and am trying to work up the courage to go on the scarey website with the muffled voices at this time of the night. I'm on my own in my house for the first time in ages too...

50 points from Gryffindor, Potter...

Goblet of Fire really does suck donkeys - all the dire elements of the previous 3 books compacted into a single car-crash of a novel. Hermione and her new teeth (because it's OK to have buck teeth until you BECOME A WOMAN hem hem) going out with the Nuryev of Quidditch, the endlessly dispensible Hufflepuffs and the growing conviction that Dumbledore doesn't have a clue what on Earth is going on but is stubbornly clinging to a veneer of omniscience as the fuzzy webs of dementia close in...

Not to mention that Cho bloody chang gets one adjective througout the entire novel. "Pretty". We are expected to fill the rest in ourselves, and you just know how we are supposed to do it...
