Cinco de Mayo celebrates the Mexican victory over the French at the Battle of Pueblo. It's actually not really celebrated in Mexico. It's more of an American holiday. They celebrate because it's actually one of the few times the Mexicans won a battle! (I'm not being silly. They really don't have the best record at fighting other countries. Civil Wars are their specialties.)

I've had a LOT of 23s abounding the last 2 days. Is it a May Day thingie? Every magazine at work was issue#23 or had '23 great workouts' and the such on the covers, I just gave someone $.23 change before leaving work, a marine under investigation for war crimes is from the 23rd battalion, today the 23rd person died of SARS in Toronto...

(and oddly enough, I couldn't find a thread on '23s'. I know there have been some...)

(salmon = fish = christ; brie = cow = brahman).

LOL - Subtle magickal references in throwaway dialogue - I am being written by GM! (though I do get the feeling there should be some more Mozza references. I'm sure they'll turn up at some point).

Not much to add except my predicted severe hangover came on Saturday, not Monday, and was a nightmare; this was after a night out when I learned that an ex-archaeologist mate of mine once met Terence Mckenna, and on which I had to deploy a little combat logomancy to shut up some fool who was making absurd statements about poetry.

Yesterday I had rather an odd (but extremely enjoyable) experience involving my HGA, and was plunged into a strange hallucinatory dreamscape in which I remember seeing a very square, serious scientist telling a newsreader that, without a doubt, time ends in 2012. And there's nothing we can do about it.

Make of that what you will...

"I know this year we have Return of the King..."

Correction: Return of the Queen. Her name can also be a double M or W depending from which view you look at it - Get It?

They are doubting our capability to handle the next shift. Whenever portals are opened, they are closed immediately again. But someone has been telling them to go ahead, if not now, it will mean the road will be unnecessarily harsh for everyone of the good. Get it? There are some who are telling them to not doubt, because it is imperative.

Sorry to code my message to you, but for now it is necessary. PM me if you understand.

Indeed.

I was referencing "LOTR3" - especially the irony of the "2 Towers"

On the other hand, ~BC~, I would like to hear more by way of PM, but yes, I am aware of the female aspect manifesting "The Final Heh of the IHVH" The Daughter of the Mighty ones. The Daughter who is ste upon her Mother's throne and awakens the King. The double M is correct: Crowley writes this code M++++M

I think I stopped a hailstorm by screaming, which was quite good because I was out cycling and not kitted out for cold weather at the time.

Had quite an odd weekend in general, too. Did some mad-as-shit rituals, an extremely sexy invocation on saturday and a seriously bugfuck evocation yesterday. I was lying on my bed going off on one like Mr Six after the Harlequinade when I was done.

I like being written by Morrison.

My day was written by Womans Weekly, I cleaned the sty a bit and did a lot of writing (for me). Pretty good really. No shit-trolls attacked me in any way or anything. I feel gypped!

Still, Chrome's warning was vague enough that something bad could still happen between now and the end of the universe, so he shouldn't feel too discouraged yet.

My day: dim sum for lunch (is my family discussing me in Cantonese paranoia), Mexican in the evening. Three episodes of DS9, soon to be four. Organising accommodation in Scotland, falling a little more in love with my wife with each passing hour. Giving NLP course details to my Pops. Chatting about X-Men 2 and Spirited Away with the whole fam. Nothing staggering in the news media. Steel guitar in my soul.

I made something pretty in the evening though. I'll post it later...

That is beautiful, Fool. Is it a sigil you charged on the night of May 5?

Nothing much happened with my May 5 except I became increasingly annoying with these fruit flies/gnats that have started to buzz all over my kitchen, and I ended up in a psuedo-argument with my roomate about the best means to get rid of them. The main lesson for me last night was "chill out, relinquish attempts to control your environment and let chaos reign."

I travelled, hung out with some friends, ate some philosopher's stone magic mushrooms, nothing bad happened except I got bitten by midges.
Maybe the big event was midge based? Is the insect intelligence trying to tell us something?
I did see rainbow sanskrit written in the sky, but I couldn't decipher it, and that usually happens on shrooms so I don't think it was a warning...

I was thinking about insects this morning. There seem to be a lot of them in the adverts: Geordie ants in the sponsor bits on Celeb Survivor, Mexican insects in the new Pringles advert, and coming into school today I saw a stylized, cartoony kid/ant thing on an advert for the BBC Bytesize internet revision service. (hmm, kids wi' ant heeds - where have we seen that before?)

I'm also seeing a lot of flies & shit about, but - bear this in mind - it is the beginning of summer hence better weather for flies.

Saw a greenfly on the bus today, too. Greenflies are kind of a good luck insect for me.

So my answer to the 'is it the insect loa' question would have to be....(drum roll)......................

Maybe.

I'll buy the insect loa theory! I seem to have decreased the gnats'/flies' presence in my apartment but there are still a few around. And when I swat them, they seem to have some red blood in them. Are they biting me while I sleep? I don't like to kill any kind of animals, but any insect that's out for my blood is fair game for me to kill in my book.

I've been thinking of trying to deal with this insect problem through magickal means. Magickal extermination? Or just magickally getting them to leave my space and be on good terms with 'em? What does this have to do with the May 5 shift, if anything? I really don't know... and like VV said, it is summer, hence more flies, bugs, mosquitos, etc.

Come to think of it, they are filming SPIDER-MAN 2 in the building where I'm temping...and I've been thinking of maybe summoning some spiders to chow down on and drive away the gnats/fruit flies. Any connection? Who knows? This might be the first time in all my posts where I truly feel I'm contributing to the dreaded THREAD ROT....

It struck me that April 10th 1904 was probably a pretty average day for most folks, yet Crowley received the last of the Book of the Law on that day. Definite buterfly effect there for sure. Or how many were aware of the events in Nevada on July 16, 1945 when the first atomic bomb was detonated? Maybe every day the future of our planet is shaped by the minutest of incidents perhaps known to only a handful of individuals...

"If the radiance of a thousand suns were to burst into the sky, that would be like the splendor of the Mighty One."

And as the black, then gray, atomic cloud pushed higher above Point Zero, another line--"I am become Death, the shatterer of worlds"--came to him from the same scripture.

Good point- we'll have to wait and see, maybe only in hindsight will we discover what is happening now. Oppenheimer was Siva that day, maybe somebody is being Kali today. This is the age of Iron (attack on Iran imminent I suspect)

I've felt a little negative/chaotic sort of vibe to my life since May 5, but I'm not sure if it's just the usual wave that comes and goes of stress/issues/challenges of life.

My experiences so far this month have been generally positive, and even the negative ones have been interesting. There's been some weird, headfuck, confusing stuff, but so far the balance of things is turning out for the best. I've done some really cool spells, some ace invocations, my divinatory skill and general perception seem to have been enhanced, and I've learned some really mind-blowing stuff about myself and the reality I inhabit of late.

My shoelaces seem to be coming undone a lot more, tho'.

Sucks? On the contrary Elephant head. Learn by "sucking" (I think) refers to the idea of "Instinct" or "Blind Force" - much like an infant when you place something to it's lips.

Whoa.
