Yeah... writing, but the long slog is nearly over and am pruning things. Did you have a good time yesterday?

I'm in for the long haul, writing a script about a Gnome from space. S'true. Hook the espresso machine to my veins!

Gnome in space sounds more fun than Sir John Knight and his blasted Jacobite spectacles (am actually quite fond of the Jacobite spectacles, it's every thing else that's irritating me...)

I'm here. I'm coughing a lot, and the cough medicine I have doesn't taste like whisky and coke like the one I had as a child did. I have no idea why I like that cough medicine so mch, cos I can only remember haveing it once, and that was at four in the morning when my parents dragegd me out of bed and sat me on the bath and angrily made me take it not, I seem to remember feeling, because they cared about my health, but cos it was fur in the fucking morning and they couldn't fucking sleep.

I don't think I swore as a child tho.

I'm heah. Just had massive email blowup with friend of mine who I've realised is a fine exponent of the art of fuckwittery. And feel strangely calm and good about such pruning of dickheadedness from my life, so that's all good.

In other news: I discovered on the weekend that I share my local supermarket with my boss. Hmm.

Hello my pretties, am playing on university computers... ok I'm reading slash and liking the new late shift name!

I'm only still here cos if i wasn't here then I'd only be sat infront of my computer listening to Cry Me A River over and over again and not doing anything else and THIS MUST STOP SOON.

Plus it allows me ot recheck my emails every five minutes going "Have Ape mailed me again? Are they publishing me?? Am I loved???"

Plus it's fun to sometimes aimlessly wonder if BiP secretly hates me. No, that's a lie... It's weirdly not fun.

I'm attempting to write a paper for my art class on bladesmithing, since we're supposed to write a paper for our midterm about a craft we're interested in.

I suppose I should get to work on it since if I pass the drug test I took last Thursday I will finally be gainfully employed and I'll probably forget all about it.

blimey people. leave a thread for a minute or so....

Hi all. Kit-kat, gathering was great, lots of lovely people and conversation and delicious food and *much* too much to drink and smoke.

Don't feel too wrecked though, think Angel/invisible_al and Fly were all feeling rougher...

cough medicine I have doesn't taste like whisky and coke like the one I had as a child did. I have no idea why I like that cough medicine so mch

Perhaps, given the rest of the story, because it *was* whisky and coke. Did you fall asleep ver' quickly and wake up with an odd headache?

_pin old thing, clearly your parents merely wished to introduce you to the good things in life at an early age - why complain? People used to put gin in babies' milk to send them off after all, that just sounds like a more sophisticated version...

Justin Timberlake... hmm that reminds me - if you happen to notice a small picture of him in any magazines please inform me ASAP. My housemates are making celebrity male top trump cards and apparently really need his photo!!!

Yes, I'm worried about them as well.

Oh and Baaaahhh, Pin. I love you. I think you're great. And terrifyingly clever for someone so wee. and terrifying tall.

what on earth are you thinking, sweetcheeks?

Is it? That's what I have sitting by my computer, but I don't wanna take it cos I'd have to play with the little spoon and I'll spill it or something. And it says it's a mentholated expectorant. How much do I not want to take a mentholated expectorant??

And it's coloured like a Calpol bottle. I fucking hate Calpol.

Am now sipping a mug of java as black as the Devil's arsehole and sweet as Grandma's prayerbook. Or vice versa.
Pin, do you do the email checking thing too? It's like a compulsion, I must check, even though people are unlikely to be emailing me at 1:30 on a Sunday night. Or, at all.

I've lost the thread of my argument... do you think you can apply the dictum 'when in doubt, cut it out' to academic essays as well as poetry?

_pin
23:42 / 23.02.03
I know. And it's not like the email's gonna fucking disappear after an hour. We all get our post once a day- why the fuck is email-checking so MUST HAVE NOW?? And it's a total double standard, as it once took me seven months to reply to a PM...

Sadly, I think my birthday celebrations (well, yours too, bip, technically) will be limited to dinner with my parents. Unless there's some large-scale concealed thing organised, which I doubt entirely.

Bah. Suckage.

KCC: I'm a sub. Anything can be cut if it's dubious. Or just doesn't fit.

Oh, Anna: check Heat this week. Wherever covers the Brits, I think - that him/Kylie thing should get some column inches, particularly given her ex's "Whaaa? She miiiiiine, fuckya!" drunken slurring...

Anna: It was possibly the worst thing in my childhood (bar, like... bullying)

Kit-Cat: Simply replace all full stops with horrendous and antiquiated punctuation so that it's all one sentence and they don't know what you're talking about and it's a big, complicated mess. If you're clever enough to do that, you must be right. And if you do cut it out, make sure to keep a copy of it somewhere, incase you can make sense of it. Rewritting needlessly's crap.

I know that really, but it's got a footnote and everything... still, over my word limit, so off with its head.

We could have a virtual birthday party for you, like your virtual housewarming...

Rothkoid: ooh there's a good idea! I'll remember that!

pin: my favourite flavour was always the purple one. Had big arguments when I was working in my local about purple vs. orange Calpol... I can't believe you disliked it that much!

Right, I'm off to bed, am in dire need of cigarette and have downloaded loadsa work related bits and pieces that require the accompanying tea and fags to be read... that's just implausible in a computer room where they don't let you eat! Sleep well - eventually.

Spatula Clarke

Dunno, pin. It's the cough medicine I can think of that could be described as whisky and Coke. Try it and see.

Is Calpol the really sickly one?

Ooh - KCC: bottle-o up the road stocks Plymouth Gin! And for only $39 per bottle. Score! There's some in my freezer. In fact, that's the only thing in my freezer.

(Does anyone find those couple of initial shops where you get sauces and jams and nothing else really frustrating? I mean, I've got a cupboard full of peanut butter and sweet chili sauce, and they can't make anythign useful yet... bah!)

If we keep throwing virtual parties for Mr. Koid he's going to start losing his sense of reality and possibly transform into a Sim. Let's do it!

Hey - if that means I get to say goodbye by saying "soom soom!", then I'm all for it. It also means that moving around my furniture will become a FUCKLOAD easier.

I don't know about that whole 'dreaming in icons' thing, though; that could be a little disturbing. What if I only have those alpine dreams? Presumably, my dreambubble would feature fezzes, as stolen from here...

I just know that some sadistic bastard would put me in a house with Jeremy Beadlesim, though. Grr.

Thanks hon, and happy birthday to you. I'm avoiding a book report right now (a book report! I'm twenty three, I haven't written a book report in a decade, I don't remember how it's done!!) and just sitting around. My mom and dad bought me a new pair of stripey knee socks which just kick so much ass, so I guess all is good with the world.

Stripey socks are indeed godlike, second only to spotty socks in foot-covering goodness.

Maybe that should be my lunchtime mission.

What book?

Mazarine
00:51 / 24.02.03
A tiny tome by Robert Flaceliere on Greek Oracles and divination. It's part of an annotated bibliography assignment. I'm hoping a book report is still sort of a summary/criticism.
