For reference, heterodox seems to be edging toward the happy, happy head.
Am not drawing lines of division between F2Bers and non-F2Bers on Barbelith. I am drawing lines of comparison between F2B (as Aussieintn avows, chuckleheaded) and Barbelith (hopefully less chuckleheaded). Was unaware until now, f'rexample, that aussieintn ot Thiazi had come from the BBSFKNA the Special Board, and am certainly not going to treat them any differently because of that. And, if you kidlings wish to frolic merrily on F2B, who could possibly resent that? But perhaps, in the spirit of "you must learn to love and accept us", maybe it would not be insane to suggest that there is a difference between the general tenor of conversations on Barbelith and the general tenor of conversation on F2B. Another instance of sensitivity...
On het flirting - where is the double standard, old chum? I dislike het flirting because it reestablishes heteronormative codes of what is and is not "correct" behaviour, and also because, if there are sex-starved het men around (on a bulletin board? Whatever next) it leads to near-instant threadrot, and because it tends to be aesthetically disappointing, mechanical and rather grim. If there was more queer flirting I'm sure I could get bored of it too, but there isn't. Partly due to a lack of critical mass, partly due to hard-to-shift notions about the safety of queer flirting in mixed company, partly perhaps due to occult factors beyond my understanding.
If by "double standard" you mean "Look! Haus! He likes queers and not hets! Double standard! Woop! Woop!", then I'm really not sure there is much profit in trying to explain how the world works to you.
Oh – little thing. Next time you call me a hypocrite, you may want to consider that it’s a wery bad word, and often leads to offence. And have the first vague idea what you are talking about. |
