Two things: one, BioDynamo has given permission to use his Gothenburg stuff in the zine.

two, I'll proof anything. Gimme gimme.

On its way, Tom. Sorry it's taken me so long, I kept being interrupted.

has anyone mentioned the old barbelith anthology yet? There were a couple of articles written for that that could be used for the 'zine.

There were a couple of comic ideas and graphic things as well.

I don't know who ended up with all the stuff though.

Tom, did you get my piece on Repeating on us: 80s TV? Bastard computer crashed or logged itself off while I was trying to send. It inevitably makes some mention of the A-Team but I don't think it's any worse for that. Let me know if you don't have it and want it. Plus edit it as much as you like if you do have it.

I did.

It's a matter me-as-editor of getting explicit permissions before "re-submitting" the stuff to Tom, as it were.

But if any of you who authored a piece for the Anthology wish to go over my head and submit it to Tom on your own, you have my blessing: I've got no plans for it, myself...

Problem is I can`t write if my life depends on it.
Anyone up for proofreading and heavy dissection.

Erm.

This is a teensy bit embarassing, for a number of reasons. See, the thing is, I'm gagging to do something for the 'zine, but there's only one thing I know quite a lot about that might not have been done to death here.

BDSM, anybody?

No, I'm serious. I'm a fully functioning (if not very scene-y) perv, and I may have some useful insights to offer.

(This is me coming out, BTW. Hope you're all suitably impressed. )

I would love to read an article on BDSM- you could even write it as a story about how a young person finds that they like BDSM, that would be cool

Ellis: Ta for saying that. Reassurance. Phew-ee.

As to the idea of a story... I was thinking more of a factual "I wish I'd known at 18 what I know now" deal. What can go right, what can go wrong, and what's the difference.

Mordant, do it. Do it please. Yes. That would rock. And if you need any 'vox pops from like-minded Barbelites' y'could always give me or Jackie (or a few others, in fact rather more than a few) an email.

And now everyone, forget I ever posted to this thread, because I simply do not have time at the moment to write anything for the zine.

Adding a 'raa yes' to your article idea Mordant, sounds great, interesting and really useful. could kick off some intersting discussion around here...

do it do it do it.

and Rosa's right, there'd be plenty of interest round here and plenty of people who'd be happy to contribute opinions if you want them, me included.

you're surrounded by perverts here, love...

You want a piece on fabulous beasts? Nothing like J. K. Rowling, I promise.

I quite fancy doing something on foot and mouth disease as well.

The first two articles sound phenomenally cool. Very up for them. The thing on science fiction - what are you referring to? Write it anyway![/LIST]

Look here Mr. Tom

Tom Coates

Yeah - actually that sounds REALLY interesting. Why is it that science fiction is now afraid to actually look to the future? Is it because it's too confusing, or there's too much of it, or because we're already there, or is it symptomatic of a greater malaise?

So you guys writing stuff for me or what?

Ronald Thomas Clontle

my answer would be 'or what'...I had/have a few things that I was working on, but just dropped in turn out of frustration or lack of time... I think that I may have some worthy things to submit maybe in a couple months.

Oh and could those people who have submitted articles but haven't seen them published yet, please resubmit them. I've lost ALL my e-mail in the Outlook Express Database Corruption disaster of 2001.

Tom, I'll have a shamanism article for you in a couple of days.

I'm writing this because it'll help me actually get it done by committing publically like this
