*swoon*

It's nice that you can just "read" off SeaGuy's mood from these pages without any words or captions.

And man, that Mickey Eye TV programme sure has gotten a lot less subtle, hasn't it?

GIDT!

Thanks for the preview, Cameron. Your artwork looks quite swell!

Any news on when Seaguy 2 will be published?

SEAGUY: THE SLAVES OF MICKEY EYE #1
Written by Grant Morrison
Art and cover by Cameron Stewart
In 2008 alone, superstar writer Grant Morrison killed Batman, put the entire DC Universe through its FINAL CRISIS and concluded the unanimously beloved ALL-STAR SUPERMAN. But what does a writer who’s written every significant Super Hero do when he can create any Super Hero he wants? The answer, of course, is SEAGUY! Morrison (THE INVISIBLES) rejoins original SEAGUY artist Cameron Stewart (SEVEN SOLDIERS) in an all-new adventure starring the cult-favorite character!
In Seaguy’s cartoon future world, everyone is a Super Hero and no one dies. It’s absolutely perfect...Or is it? In this follow-up to the cult 2004 miniseries, Seaguy resurfaces with a sinister new partner, a hatred of the sea and a rebel restlessness he can’t explain. Why are Doc Hero and his ex-archenemy Silvan Niltoid, the Alien from Planet Earth, whispering strange equations? Why is Death so useless? And can that really be the ghost of Chubby Da Choona mumbling uncanny warnings and dire prophecies of ultimate catastrophe?
When the grotesque powers lurking behind the corporation known as Mickey Eye and the Happy Group attempt to erase Seaguy’s entire existence, can he possibly get it together in time to save a world so far gone it can’t even imagine the horror lying in wait? Find out here in Morrison’s own personal reframing of the Super Hero concept for the 21st century.

Yessssss.

What was the last non-DC Universe work GM put out? Vimanarama in 2005?

This should be a refreshing change of pace.

What with this and LOEG, April looks set to be a good month.

Great cover, Cam

I like that we can't see the eyes of the three pretender 'Guys. Creepy. Also echoes the monocular Mickey Eye whom I get a feeling the 'Guys are working for/created by.

>>>(Is that Peaguy, Threeguy and Teaguy?)<<<

You've two out of three correct.

Thanks everyone for the enthusiasm! Never thought we'd see the day, huh?

Colour me cynical, but for ages there I didn't expect to see the day actually.

The thing that excites me most about this book, is that it's a perfect project: a stable team, with an artist who absolutely needs to make the project sing. It really helps if Morrison artists are Morrison fans.

And obviously it helps if they're great artists too.

I'm very happy about this.

Never thought we'd see the day, huh?

No, I really didn't. This is marvelous.

And may it lead to more Manhattan Guardian books in the future...I miss that guy.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
04:48 / 21.01.09
Beautiful. I stuck that cover up as my desktop wallpaper like a proper geek, and I'm mighty inclined to reread the first series (and, you know, Vinamarama) to get myself properly in the mood.

Cam, is the whole thing in the can at this point or are you still working?

This is good news. Looking forward to it. I think Seaguy is my favourite Morrison stuff. And Camerans art is just about perfect. Hurry up April!

11:11 / 21.01.09
The thing is, in many ways Seaguy is as much Cam's as Morrison's. I think that bears saying.

The Natural Way

Yeah, I kind of meant that. Rather than a 'stable' team I should have said a proper team.

Ooh proper excited about this. Roll on April...

Anyone else spot this ad in the UK press last year? Scary, Mickey Eye is among us.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
01:14 / 24.01.09
Perhaps it is time to discuss the restorative powers of Seaguy -- just one glance at a page of the first mini will of course clear up spots and stabilize even the most rampantly ridiculous personality flaws.

Aha! I am Klarion
05:02 / 26.01.09
amen to that papers!

I for one will be rereading the first series in the coming weeks, as soon as I get time to dig it out from under three years of comics. I'm curious - I liked it, but I never understood it. It didn't seem popular at the time, but now seems to have taken on a singular sort of status. Part of it's down to Cameron, I'm sure. Maybe a read in the wake of 7 Soldiers, Final Crisis and RIP will elucidate. I'm certainly more used to interpreting Morrison's meta-commentaries about the comic industry nowadays.

Triplets

God, I just love that cover with the Three Ghosts of Seaguy. That Mickey Moon looks immense.
