Confirmed over here at comic book resources(scroll down):

...and Morrison confirmed he plans to deliver that to Vertigo later this year with the release of Seaguy 2: The Slaves of Mickey Eye.

“It’s so much fun,” said Morrison. “The other ones are hard work because you are doing other people’s characters and trying to be faithful. But this is my own stuff. I originally thought about it as three books. The first book was his childhood. And it’s the idea that you’re quite ignorant and you just want to have adventures. And you have all your talking pals and imaginary friends. So that was the child Seaguy. This is the teenage version of Seaguy. It’s quite dark and gloomy and glossy and weird but it’s quite funny, as well. And the final one is a mature adult, so it’s a different version again. But it’s basically just this guy growing up and finding out the truth about things.”

So we can expect Seaguy 3 as well?

“Yes, we are going to get to finish the story,” Morrison confirmed. “Which is great. People will finally get to understand it! Some of the stuff that they didn’t get in first one is obviously cleared up by events in the second.”

Cameron Stewart? Is this true? If so, I love you.

This was confirmed in early March, by Grant and .

I couldn't be more excited.

Wasn't the original plan for each book to have different artists, Frank Q being one? I'd rather we stuck with Cameron Stewart, personally. And I'm enjoying looking forward to something Grant Morrison's writing again, being rather bored with mainstream superheroes and disenchanted with his writing of them. But Seaguy? Fuck yeah, that was good.

...and from the NYCC:

Grant Morrison's "Sea Guy" is returning for two more 3-issue series. In the second series, Sea Guy is relocated to Spain and given a new identity as a Bull Dresser: the practice of killing cows has been outlawed, so now matadors dress bulls in sexy clothes. The last mini series is called "Sea Guy: Eternal," and will be Sea Guy's final adventure.

Matadors dressing up bulls? See, that's why I like his creator-owned stuff, right there.

yes, he talked more about Seaguy than Final Crisis. possibly because he was asked about Seaguy, like, three or four times.

apparently Seaguy will be haunted by the ghost of Chubby, and in the third part will travel to the land of the dead
(the now-shattered continent of Australia) to search for his friend.

in any event, he seemed very definite that we'll be seeing Seaguy for sure.

The spectre of Seaguy's already misunderstood, and thus subliminated, and finally killed, member of parliament?

Crikey.

Will Cameroon Steward be drawing this, though?

Cameroon?

I think Cameron mentioned in some other thread a month or so back that he was. Grant spilled the news and Cameron confirmed it as his next project after finishing up the current stuff (which, if my memory of yet another thread serves, has been finished).

This still the case?

Hey everyone, I'm currently in New York for the comic con so sorry for the slow response.

Not a dream! Not an imaginary story! Although, bizarrely, I wasn't on the Vertigo panel where Grant spent 30 minutes talking about Seaguy, I am indeed happy to say that we are definitely doing Seaguy 2 & 3 back-to-back. There's still a few contract details to work out but that should be sorted soon and I should be starting to draw very shortly. In fact I should be meeting up with Grant a couple hours from now to talk about it.

Exciting!

Hey Cameron, great to know that we'll be seeing more Seaguy from you - I was just thinking today how, if it was anyone else, it probably wouldn't feel right.

ONLY NICE THINGS
16:07 / 20.04.08
Well, if I recall correctly, it probably wouldn't happen - Stewart and Morrison share the creative ownership of Seaguy. It's not a Grant Morrison + some dude on pencils production.

Perhaps if one was to ask very nicely, the lettering gig might still be up for grabs though, maybe?

The credits for Mr Miracle #2, I seem to remember.

Glenn Close But No Cigar

And should have been the credits for most of The Invisibles, excepting Yeowell, Weston and Quitely's issues, and the odd one done by Philip Bond. I'm minded to think that the reason DC/VERTIGO haven't got any plans to put out an Absolute edition of the ol' hyper-sigil is because much of the art is complete arse.

Yes, Grant and I share creative ownership of Seaguy so there wouldn't be anyone else drawing it unless we both agreed on it.

And you best be damned sure that no one is drawing Seaguy but me.

Didn't get to see Grant for very long today, his schedule was crazy busy with interviews and signings, but I spent about an hour with Kristan talking about everything and walked away from the show extremely hyped. This is going to be great.

Wow, that's really great news, Cam! And you have my vote for artist I'd like to see on one of the future A*Superman 1-shots, particularly that story Grant says would be set in Smallville and Clark's early days.

As though you guys haven't already had enough:

Seaguy 2 is a "bit emo," representing SG's adolescence as a hero. The people who run the world turn him into El Macho, King of the Bull-dressers. In the future, "you can't kill bulls in a bull fighting ring, you can only dress them up to show how macho you are. ... The bull charges and you pull out a hat. The bull's got this stupid hat on. Then you pull out a bra..." But when he's got the bull dressed up and the crowd is cheering, Seaguy thinks "is this all there is?"

Seaguy 3 is "a journey to the land of the dead... which is Australia." "It's kind of my take on being alive, and being human and going through all these expereineces[sic]."

"It's kind of my take on being alive, and being human and going through all these expereineces[sic]."

You know, his gift for hype is showing some signs of faltering. Isn't every story about that?

Yeah, I think it's more that the megahydraulic autoservo N-dimensional scorpion-powered engine of Over the Top Hype lodged somewhere in his grey matter is just tired right now. He's hyped enough in the past. Let the poor noneuclidean brass engine sleep.

Though I must admit. I liked this bit: Last issue of the Invisibles: "What happened was those words you read and the pictures you saw." Rather to the point and, well, as much as I'm sure the mere sight of the I-word elicits groans of an exhaustion similar to the mechanical hype gland's, it's a well enough, entirely hype free summary.

Also, Seaguy. Seaguy. Seaguy. Why hadn't I heard of this sooner? My head is actually spinning. I'd completely lost hope that this series would ever be finished. I will now go and explode with joy. I may even blurt out to random strangers who don't know George & Cameron from Gilbert & George that Seaguy is returning. Seaguy. Is. Returning. Such fantastic news.

Today I sat down at my drawing table and did the first official piece of Seaguy artwork since 2004. It felt great!

Can't show you yet, obviously, but it's very real...

I imagine it must be excessively hot wearing a wetsuit underneath a matador outfit. Otherwise, I forsee this as an exercise in preserving composure for the rest of us, as you (will probably) continue to tease us so.

I see this thread up and the hearts go a-pounding. Cool beans. Seaguy maturing, a tad older face?

And drown that fjords-pining motherfucker, Seaguy! Your true freudian companion is a dip-fearing fish-smelling cigar-smoker. Never forgeeeet...

I have no idea what to expect, except frenzied joy.
