No, 'tis cool. I shall go and buy chips and hummus in pitta bread with chillis and stuff. From the shop I used to live above. They love me in there. I used to buy my food there every day. Now I live somewhere else and eat slightly healthier, they're always really pleased to see me.

While I had the window open to dry out my damp laundry - I didn't have enough quarters this morning at the laundromat - I had on an old green track jacket I haven't worn since the summer, and in one of the pockets I found a good luck charm a friend brought back from Japan for me, and an itty-bitty blue rubber devil-duckie such as used to be quite popular.

Well, I love hummous, and what a great idea for the garbonzo beans soaking in the pot. At the moment, however, my boy wants to make caramel apples.

Caramel apples always seemed a bit odious to me, but that might be the prepackaged candy industry's "razors in the apples" urban legends talking.

Making pasta. There will be a thick tomato sauce on top, and that's followed by packaged pre-grated, dried parmesan cheese which is very salty and not "good" cheese, per se, my one lowbrow cheese desire. It can be brie and peppercorn gouda every day. Followed by a moose tracks ice cream for dessert.

Actually, having eaten food now (chips and curry sauce is a wonderful meal... not only does it taste great, but it's a beautiful illustration of why multiculturalism is a wonderful thing...) I think I may sleep.

It's payday tomorrow, y'see, and I don't want to sleep through it. I have dogs to walk, computer games and books to buy, and a gig to go to.

I'm a pathetic Safari user, but I do love Moosetracks Ice Cream. Down here, south of the border, it's made by Hershey's Ice Cream, which isn't the same as the chocolate. The chocolate in Hershey's is melt-in-the-mouth delicious but the ice cream is too frothy to me. Nevertheless, moose tracks is a thing of beauty.
