Wait a minute. Are you trying to tell us something?

MattShepherd: I WEDDED KALI!
16:01 / 03.05.07
Not at all! If people do, however, choose to engage in the thrilling pursuit of selection, if they wish to divulge their well-considered preferences, if they desire to expunge themselves of the burden of laggardly vote-withholding, that is something I most heartily encourage! Huzzah!

MattShepherd: I WEDDED KALI!
16:54 / 07.05.07
Seriously, folks, I have like 4/16 votes. Don't force me into public shaming. Because I will publicly shame.

Ticker
12:39 / 09.05.07
WEE! IT ARRIVED UNMOLESTED IF LATE!

I shall be a voting tomorrow.

MattShepherd: I WEDDED KALI!
12:46 / 09.05.07
Holy CRUD, that took ... a long time.

MattShepherd: I WEDDED KALI!
19:32 / 09.05.07
Could I ask anyone who voted for "They tallied survivors." as their fave story to vote for another? That one was, er, mine and votes for others are all tied.

Olulabelle
20:52 / 09.05.07
No. You're just as valid a winner as anyone else.

Haloquin
15:38 / 11.05.07
I think 'Lula is right, you are as valid a winner as anyone else. If you don't want it, either choose a new person, or put the ones that tied for first in a hat and pull one. But, to be fair, I think you are worthy of winning!

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK

I still have yet to vote... will do so tomorrow, I promise.

MattShepherd: I WEDDED KALI!
08:42 / 17.05.07
Last call!

Haloquin
22:40 / 23.05.07
I wanna know!!! Whats happening?

MattShepherd: I WEDDED KALI!
12:59 / 24.05.07
Sorry! Mondo busy lately.

SIX-WORD STORY WINNER: Er, me, with
"They tallied survivors. One. Well fed."

BUT! a close second place to:
"Triumphant, the robot knelt, and wept."

BLEND OF STORY AND SONG WINNER:
"Inexplicably, the dolls began to whisper." with the Switchblade Symphony track.

Should I reveal who done what? Or should I let people expose themselves?

OOH NEVER MIND GOOD IDEA!

BONUS ROUND:

Publicly post your guesses about who done whut. First person other than me or Kali (cough cough) to get 10/16 right will get the SUPER SECRET EXTRA PRIZE.

Haloquin
13:26 / 24.05.07
Wahay! Thanks for the update!

Won't publicly posting our guesses reveal which one we did? I mean, I either make a list with me on it saying which one I did, or I make a list leaving my track out... in which case its fairly obvious which one I was...

MattShepherd: I WEDDED KALI!
13:28 / 24.05.07
STRONG LOGIC!

Okay, so that won't work. I'll default back to

REVEAL WHAT YOU DID IF YOU WANT! But I will betray no confidences.

I was having real trouble working out exactly who got on the CD. I went through the thread and ended up having a list of 20 usernames, who changed and didn't tell me?

I was the robot story!

Also, if Princess didn't submit the Progidy track I will eat my entire face.

14:24 / 24.05.07
I totally voted for Prodigy.

I think mine was obvious.

Princess
20:47 / 24.05.07
Am I that obvious? Was it the matricidal violence that gave it away?

Olulabelle
20:55 / 24.05.07
I was the Jackie Wilson song. I freely admit I wrote my six word story entirely in order to include that song because I wanted to make everyone feel happy and smile and possibly dance around their house like I do when I hear it.

I'm all about the love, me.

Lama glama
22:24 / 24.05.07
Mine was the Britney/Who theme thing. I'm so, so sorry.

Mike Modular
00:14 / 25.05.07
Ah, Olulabelle, somehow I knew that was yours... You certainly succeded in making me happy and dancey with that (and well done to Matt for putting it last - perfect ordering)

Mine was, well, me, and you should be able to work it out... I sort of like the story now, but I'm not sure it works so well without the sounds (which I freely admit were highly influenced by Inland Empire at the time...)

MattShepherd: I WEDDED KALI!
10:04 / 25.05.07
Olulabelle was also the last person to submit something, and it was a joy to receive because I'd worked out a great track order but (a) I wasn't sure how this last track would fit in and (b) the second half of the mix was full of great stuff but was really, really dark and I wanted to put something upbeat at the end but the Eurythmics just didn't... fit, y'know?

And then Olulabelle saves the day with Jackie Wilson and a recording that actually sounds perfect because it's made on a phone.

Maybe mine wasn't obvious - I was the one without the narration. She she she she she touched-tou-ou-ouched (heaven!) -- then, then SHE diiiied.

whose was the stopping by woods on a snowy evening?

And Matt, what did you win?

Feverfew
17:27 / 29.05.07
Mine was the shortened Robert Frost. The poem had been pinging around my head for months, so I wanted to get it out of my head, temporarily.

The M83 track, however, appeared because of A Scanner Darkly. So there.

Feverfew
17:36 / 29.05.07
Wait. Does this mean I can't do the No-Votes dance?

I mean, I had the trousers ready and everything.

Pacific! Re-send me your postie address (and did that CD ever show up? If not, I'll send another) for BIG PRIZES.

I won something GOOD that I haven't decided on yet. Will discuss prizes w/ PS via PM this P.M. if he RSVPs ASAP.

Essential Dazzler
19:29 / 29.05.07
PM sent, Matt.

Don't be sorry, Llamas, I frinking love that track, I'm listening to it right now.

favourite moment of the CD, hands down, is the way "There's no point in being grown up if you can't be childish sometimes" segues right into Firestarter.

Or the obscene perkiness of the Eurythmics and story following Dream Theater.

Or The album closing on such a perfect note.

Kudos everyone.

Haloquin
19:38 / 29.05.07
Mine was the very cheesey story and Dream Theatre combo at the beginning. I'm a little embarressed by it, but I love the song, and am truly a little goth girl at heart! I was a little surprised when I put the CD on and my voice was the first thing on it!

petunia
19:43 / 29.05.07
Mine was the 'embarrased about my voice' 'Something, Nothing...' story.

I love that Deerhoof track and it makes me think of eternity fucking. Thus the story. The voice modulation was meant to sound cool, but then i heard Matt's voice and it made me weep.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
00:50 / 30.05.07
Mine was the Dead Can Dance. I've been waiting for a CD I could put that track on.

MattShepherd: I WEDDED KALI!
19:46 / 06.09.07
So, much later, does this experiment merit repeating at some point? Or was the meld kind of intrusive and weird?

I feel strange when I listen to it now and I hear my voice pop up more than once, like I'm an attention hog, but it really wasn't avoidable. Still makes me feel weird tho'.

MattShepherd: I WEDDED KALI!
19:51 / 06.09.07
Oh, and also for the record: that was me on the Dead Can Dance and Switchblade Symphony tracks with some pitch shifting. Neither Stoats nor Unnamed Switchblade Symphony Track Contributor sound like that, thank God.

I like it. I think it drives some of the people in my household a little batty, because they weren't in on the premise and don't like my habit of sticking spoken word samples in mixes anyway.

Because they are bitter and sour and woebegone.

Olulabelle
12:07 / 15.09.07
I thought it was a wicked idea and would like to do another one.

Feverfew
15:57 / 15.09.07
Ditto.
