No, man, the wooden space station was the Vincent Ward script.

My preferences are 1,2 and 3.

Four?...we dont speak of four.

Three *and* four are dead to me.

Dead.

Hrm. Thing is, I wasn’t already hugely invested in Aliens when I saw Alien 3, so I wasn’t then desperately disappointed or angered or whatever by everything it wasn’t. But I was a big fan of Alien 3 by the time I saw Alien Resurrection, so I do sort of understand the gahh anger reaction that Aliens fans have to the next film along that doesn’t have any of the stuff they liked. Or something.

You’re both wrong, though. 3 and 4 are the best ones.

Three had its faults...they should have played up the whole alien various species hybrids. In the trading cards they showed an ox that died and was being hauled away. It was supposed to be included in the movie as was the ox-xenomorph hybrid. But did they do that? Oh nooo.

and the other movie, the one that we dont talk about..it sucked.

Kegs, dude, I think your wished-for ox has actually been restored, with the magic of CGI and everything, to the new and improved Director’s cut of Alien 3! Out now on DVD, etc

Well, me too. Having made this whole ‘greatest film evah! For sure!’ song and dance about it, I suppose I should probably get my own copy sooner or later. But, I dunno. *Favourite* film is the film you've already seen about a zillion times, generally; which could well be the very last film you actually need to go out and buy your own copy of. That's my excuse, anyway.

(Oh, and in hope of further mining the controversy seam: y'know, I thought Hulk was totally aces, too.)

I'm quite chuffed in a way. I'm quite used to people coming round the pub selling dodgy DVDs. I've never got round to getting any before as i always thoght they would be shit quality. But tonight i thought, fuck it, and got 'Children of Men', 'Pan's Labyrinth' and a 'The Curse of King Tuts Tomb-mini series with Simon Callow' and tried them out and they all look and play perfectly.

Never again shall i shun the girl who does the rounds in the pub with a plastic bag full of discs!

I am, of course, willing to admit that i fund terroism.

I'm willing to risk anything if it has Simon Callow in it to be honest.

The Falcon

The Hulk is pretty good apart from that dream sequence Bruce has where they're both (he and.. Betty? God, I know this. I know this!) wearing jumpers borrowed straight out of Jim Carrey's dream sequence in Dumb & Dumber.

That was terrible.

I need to watch Alien(cubed) again to reasses it.

Can someone please break into my house an steal that WoW trial DVD I bought this afternoon. Urgh, 2am? You fool. You fool.

Ha! I resisted the trial cd. I'm probably the most likely candidate to break into your house and I'm still not gonna... Just think of the money you're going to be spending once the trial period runs out and you NEED to get a real fix.

Apparently "working on the novella" is code for "spelunking youtube for Harvey Birdman and Family Guy" tonight. I need to get some work done, dammit!

maybe you can make your novella baout Harvey Birdman nad The Family Guy?

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy

Well, I made it past the day's minimum, and I still have a few hours to go before bed. So I'm doing okay.

Was supposed to go out for a writing session with a friend but I think I'm skipping out on account of the horrendous storm.

By Jingo, I've just watched the Young@Heart chorus doing 'forever young' in front of an audience of prison inmates and am unashamed to admit that I have been moooved.

I know that the idea of music being 'authentic' an' all that is a dead rockist lie an' everything, but fucking hell.

Christ are they doing 'Schizophrenia' as well?

That's so weird. From the Michael Richards thread in FTVT, I've literally just watched a YouTube clip of Dany Hoch doing a talk in front of prison inmates.

What is this? Barbelith "watch people who aren't in prison doing stuff in prison" night?

How's the lateshift, anyway? I'm sitting here with a few beers, and in an hour and twenty minutes I'm going to be thirtyfuckingfive. I'm a little scared.

Be not afraid of uncharted territory, my Piratical chum. Plenty more time to fight for peace and goodwill in the land of Albion yet.

God, why did I type that? I'm not pissed...

Which was for Stoatie obviously. I'm fine though, thank you.

According to the arsehole on this advert he's just gone to Tescos to buy the booze for the office party.

Bit early in'it?

Happy Birthday!

For tomorrow, I mean.

I'm sitting in the wreckage of a takeaway curry, also with a few drinks chilling, watching a truly rotten disaster flick and waiting for the Ashes to begin. There are worse ways to spend an evening..

Oh Christ yes! I forgot about the Ashes (sound of my Dad smahing his head into a brick wall).
