You've got quite a way with the double entendre, Kali.

[snort, snuffle, channelling]

Sounds rude, that.

'Has away with."

Arf. Bit of a double meaning, eh? Double. Sounds rude, too.

I didn't find it offensive. You'd be hard-pressed to offend me.

Reposted from my intro thread:

So, I'm Ben, a student at stony Brook university in Long Island.

I major in computer science, and code programs and websites for fun.

I have a pet ferret, to differentiate myself from the masses.

Hi team. I just signed up this afternoon, so this is all new for me.

I'm 21, I'm currently flailing around in the beginning of a summer that will likely see some big changes in direction for me before its close. For now, though, I'm on an English degree in Manchester, I work part time in a well-known convenience store, and I am not fulfilling my potential. I play a half-decent game of chess, can tap dance to a socially unacceptable level, and I like talking best.

Hello!

PET FERRET.

bkudira, could you talk about your ferret at length? For those poor souls in unsympathetic rented accomodation, or who feel they don't currently have the time and attention to devote to a ferret of their own. Maybe you could give us little updates. 'Ferret washing nose with paws', for example, or 'ferret stuck in sock, riled but playful.'

Welcome to the board.

Cosmo!! - don't tapdance anywhere near the ferret.

Otherwise welcome.

Welcome Cosmo, too.

What exactly is the level of tapdancing which IS socially acceptable?

Etiquette's never been my strong point.

So, the ferret is named 'Nancy', as in:

Her name was Magil and she called herself Lil
But everyone knew her as Nancy.

Right now, I'm at work, so I have no clue what she is doing (sleeping, most probably, they do that 18 hours a day), but I'll post lolferet pics, sure. I'lltake some when I get home.

PLEASE tell me you keep her down your trousers (even if it's a lie).

A ferret's not a ferret unless she lives down your trousers.

Hi. Awkward pause. Shuffle feet. Me: 28, Sri Lankan (possibly the first on Barbelith?), would-be writer by night, techie by day, lately also a full-time professional migraineur. But I have pills to take for nearly all of the above.

I have no ferret and cannot tap-dance. I am one of the undifferentiated masses.

I'm 24. I make comic books. No ferret, but I do have a large, ornery cat. I'm currently at the Denver airport but usually hover in or near Portland.

Hello, I am Allen Greenfield. There is a piece about me on Wikipedia; it has occasional inaccuracies but is for the most part pretty accurate. If you want some beginning knowledge of my interests, check my web site at

http://www.mindspring.com/~hellfire/bishop/

or my livejournal at

http://tausirhasirim.livejournal.com/

or even my much neglected blogger blog

http://henryallenthewarhammer.blogspot.com/

I suppose much of what I might have to say here would be dovetailed into "The Temple" but I have been a radical political activist, an early science fiction enthusiast, especially Phil Dick (since the 1950s's), an occultist, a monotheist among heathens, and generally an enthusiast for edge culture.

I have no idea why I was invited here, but I thank - whoever - for the honor of the invite.

Oh, I'm not trying to sell anything, my soul included.

Hi Allen,

Welcome!
Not sure what you mean by a monotheist among heathens?
I'm usually a polytheist among antagnostics in most Fortean gatherings...

Do please come over to the Temple and dig up some threads you are interested in posting to.

Hey all. I received my Invitation today -- as did quite a few others, looks like. Anyway, hello. My name is Keith, and I stumbled upon Barbelith one day a few weeks ago while looking for information on a Pirates vs Ninjas card game. I realize I am about five years too late for this. I'm relatively sure I'm still a good person, though. I also had never heard of Barbelith before this happen-upon, but I'm still pretty sure I'm a good person.

Anyway, so. My name is Keith and I live in Brooklyn, NY with my girlfriend, two additional roommates, two turtles, and a cat. I'm 27 and I make ends meet doing a variety of work -- some video editing, some temping, and this week I'm supposed to be designing a highschool yearbook. But am I, or am I instead writing on Barbelith? Yessss.

I also write my own comic book, and am generally infatuated with the medium. I love music and sometimes play in bands. I got to play CBGB's a few months before it got shut down. I make little movies with friends, and try to pay attention to my girlfriend's activist pursuits. I come from a very small town, and going to film school was in almost all ways a huge mistake.

There is a photo on the internet of Grant with his arm around me. He's hugging me warmly and I am sort of smiling, sort of leering. All this and we'd known each other less than a minute.

I'd go on more, but that seems tacky.

Greetings to all.
My name is John B friends online call me JGB3.
I live in Orange County, CA.
(we call it, "living behind the Orange Curtain")

I was lucky enough to find Barbelith by accident doing a net search involving a favorite subject of mine,
Jung and Alchemy.
I am what you might consider and open minded skeptic.
I am a neophyte and my interests include:

Alchemy
Gnostism
Cathars
The Golden Dawn
Crowley
Paganism
Wicca
ZEN
and anything regarding Jung or Joseph Campbell
Wow, that sounded way too much like a contestant on the magickal dating game LOL

I am not a novice in the following areas, BDSM,
(I am a Dom) (I am also Polyamorous and into Sex Magic)

I would love to discuss anything of interest to anyone.
I am always looking for good resources for deeper knowledge.

Figured I should just get the basic info out there so we can all start playing together

If I say something ignorant in my posts, forgive me,
I 46 years old and a late comer to the esoteric world,
but I am never intensionally stupid or rude

As I get older, I get less skeptical and more open minded
I don't know everything, but I know what is best for me

Thanks and greetings to everyone out there.
I'm looking forward to listening and learning.
JOHN B

Is it possible to fold a ferret in half?

I was just googling ferrets and it turns out that they have a dance. This dance can either mean that it's happy or wants to tear your throat out. But the important thing is that they can dance.
