Ah. Still here. Good evening!

Blake Head
20:55 / 21.10.06
Yes, let's. Though now I have to feel embarrassed about blatantly stealing half of your ficsuit name.

Papess
20:56 / 21.10.06
Yes, I am running on tea and such, too.

Iamus, do I know you? I have no idea who you might be. Cheers to ya anyway!

This was my neighbourhood this afternoon, when I went for a stroll and a read of the paper. Lovely sunny afternoon.

This was what I was sent to work on last week. Live 3D transmission via satelite of surgery including kidney transplant, cancer surgery and urethra replacement. Highly interesting, if a little freaky the first day. Within 5 minutes of arriving, not knowing what to expect, I was being dressed in green scrubs for the surgical area.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK

I'm now sat in the office and back online. Boo and yay, in that order.

Blake Head
20:57 / 21.10.06
Wasn't there someone else? I'm fairly sure I've seen another one around. We could get an unholy trinity of "Heads" together to terrorise the board! Just saying.

Papess
20:58 / 21.10.06
what an awesome job you must have coq... and such a lovely city.

Blake Head
20:58 / 21.10.06
Yay for Stoats! Boo to the office! Boo!

Papess
20:59 / 21.10.06
Heads up!

Bed Head
21:04 / 21.10.06
An unholy trinity of 'Heads'? Well, there did used to be a Suedehead around here. Dunno what happened to him...

Also: blimey, Cog, what a beautiful place to live!

Iamus, do I know you? I have no idea who you might be. Cheers to ya anyway!

I was a teenaged Meludreen.

'Cept I wasn't a teenager. Still.... I was a Meludreen.

I'm back! I'm going to order Chinese!

MMmmmmmm! Salt and Pepper Squid for a starter!

it's cog by the way :-)

I am just a lowly agency technician at the moment while I find my feet in this country, but they have sent me on some interesting stuff so far. I'm super skint, but it hasn't stopped me buying flights back to London and also to Sweden for Xmas with friends. Yay.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK

Confusingly there was a Stoathead at one point, too, which wasn't me.

The paranoia has set in. These are the bad times: the lonely parts in the wee small hours of the morning when all of the amyls in the world can’t save you. When the drugs that have kept you high have worn off and the drugs that calmed you down from that high have worn off and the drugs you took to counteract the drugs you took to counteract the drugs you took have reached between you legs and grabbed your scrotum and run off down the street with it.

Nicked shamelessly from Aberrant: Fear and Loathing. Spicy stuff.

(And yes, I know it’s just went 11 where I am)

Bedhead: possibly what I’m thinking of.

It just went up to eleven where you are, by the sounds of things.

Grr. Not only am I at work, but it appears loads of other people are on holiday, so I've got tons more work to do.

Ah well. Two more nights then it's THREE WEEKS OFF FOR ME!!!

I think the coffee just kicked in. Feeling just a little bit hyper all of a sudden.

More thoughtfully, last night I read a rather interesting book on skateboarding called The Answer Is Never, which went on about skating as part of an outsider culture, how it was linked to punk/hardcore, its use of urban space and architecture - I particularly liked the description of an abandoned lot as concrete pornography. Lots of stuff that feels familiar to Barbelith, but somehow I can’t see a thread on it working, and I’m pondering as to why. Maybe because I think about it as a reflective (and an older) space and to a degree skating carries itself as being aggressive, active, sometimes anti-intellectual. I’ve never skated seriously myself, so I’d feel a bit daft starting a topic I couldn’t add much to. So, barring Barbelith skater boys and girls coming out of the woodwork, I think I’ll leave my jumbled thoughts there.

SUEDEHEAD GO!

iamus
21:32 / 21.10.06
Are you skating?

You should be skating.

Suedey! SHOT FOR MEAT!

I lost my head.

Keggers, is that you?

Papess
21:33 / 21.10.06
OMG! MEL!

I suppose I owe you an apology.
Forgive me?

Blake Head
21:33 / 21.10.06
I feel like I'm in a gang. Possibly a skate gang.

Papess
21:33 / 21.10.06
I don't think Keggers will be joining us tonight.

iamus
21:35 / 21.10.06
No big deal, Trix! I forget who half the folk are after name-change and I'm actually about to see them do it!

Very good to see you back round these parts though!

Here's another exclamation mark just for luck!

Suedey! SHOT FOR MEAT!

!

Suedey! SHOT FOR MEAT!
21:37 / 21.10.06
I've just realised I have next to NOTHING to say. However I do have one beer.

Also I believe more people should go away travelling just so they have a greater amount of Battlestar Galactica when they get back. It's almost the best part, I hear!

iamus
21:37 / 21.10.06
I'm listening to Love Shack at the moment.

This is the coolest skate gang ever.

iamus
21:38 / 21.10.06
Having nothing of import to say is what Late Shift is all about.

One beer is one beer more so!

Suedey! SHOT FOR MEAT!
21:39 / 21.10.06
I will only be in a gang if I can swing my chains menacingly.

iamus
21:40 / 21.10.06
Can I wear that one bicycle glove on one hand, and slick my hair up greaser-style?

Suedey! SHOT FOR MEAT!
21:40 / 21.10.06
So I watched the Da Vinci Code last night.

Suedey! SHOT FOR MEAT!
21:41 / 21.10.06
You do what you like, little man! Obviously.

Anyway, like I was saying. Tonight I shall post in the style of Ricky Gervais! Obviously.

iamus
21:42 / 21.10.06
Is the Da Vinci Code something you can actually watch?

I thought it was more of a stare-through-and-drool thing.

Suedey! SHOT FOR MEAT!
21:42 / 21.10.06
I shall now recycle old jokes from Alan Partridge, Seinfeld and Curb your Enthusiasm and watch as people fawn over me as if I am doing something NEW and EXCITING, and not just writing paper thin characters which barely mask myself!
