But, it being the beginning of the school year, I'm in something of a similar place. Now, I'm not actually leaving, or taking a full respite, but at the moment I'm checking in a little less frequently, particulary the parts of the board that require more thought and energy--the beloved headshop, especially.

But I will be here in conversationland, particularly the late shift when I'm supposed to be grading late at night. (I can usually grade and post at the same time in the Lateshift, I find, which is cool. It probably helps that the deepest topic we usually hit on is what kind of wine one is drinking or what kinds of vegetables should be purplified.)

Well, I thought I'd recharged my batteries a bit, but it's possible that might have been my bile tank... I think there's an ongoing tension between enjoyment and stewardship - how far you can go with the ignore function, how to read and moderate threads, how responsible one feels for the progression of discussions, that sort of thing. alas and id entity backing off, in particular, is making my quandary circuits spark like a perplexed Transformer. Prowl, possibly. He used to get a bit of a cob on.

Nah, that's not going to happen is it? But I think a combination of factors, extreme suckiness at work plus the extended arguing about/waiting for Tom to deal with 33 has left me in a bad head space to deal with policy arguments right now. I think the top two fora on the board are going to be the last two I look at each day rather than the first. See if that helps me out...

I think it's time for an exile from Barbelith for a while.

I've been at a con for the past few days and imagine my shock and displeasure at a thread forwarded to me via PM about DM and I's behavior.

I read all the posts, felt there were many valid points, and then I went to read the originals in the other threads and really felt like for the first time in six years, I was no longer welcome or at least not tolerated. Something I find ironic considering it was the atmosphere of acceptance that made it so lovely here to post in the first place.

I could just as easily change my mind and not go anywhere, but my current mood--dictated by the first fight I've had with the guy I think I'm seeing--says otherwise.
