Kali, Queen of Kitteh
15:06 / 15.10.06
Oh, that I knew. I'm sure something along the lines of "Since you have already seen alien technology, we have a position you might be very interested in...." will be used for her appearance.

Spoiler-cum-tease alert!

Oh, Kali, Doctor Dave has a bit-part in Torchwood Ep2.

00:54 / 17.10.06
cube, cube, cube.....

Doing the spoiler thing and Kalibaiting?

Jo Frost is very displeased with you.

■
08:43 / 17.10.06
More bait than spoiler, actually. Took me long time to notice it myself. Don't tell nanny.

I like the typography of the Torchwood logo....I'll get my coat .

Kali, Queen of Kitteh

*gasp*

Tennant in episode 2???

I feel...I feel...I feel so fucking jealous.

adamswish
15:25 / 17.10.06
Slightly spoilery, but not really (honest)...

Technically, according to this weeks Radio Times, David Tennant is in every episode of Torchwood, or at least part of him is...

Triplets
15:43 / 17.10.06
Is he the fit one?

Lama glama
15:44 / 17.10.06
Again, spoilery:

The part of The Doctor that's in every episode of Torchwood is going to be his decapitated hand, isn't it?

Lama glama
15:46 / 17.10.06
Or the hand equivalent of decapitation.

Amputated hand, I suppose.

Triplets
16:11 / 17.10.06
It wasn't really amputated though, that suggests forethought or it being a medical necessity. Did the guy with the big scapel look like a doctor?

Severed hand?

Dehanditation.

Kali, Queen of Kitteh
16:47 / 17.10.06
(weeps gently)

penitentvandal
19:29 / 17.10.06
Demanitation, surely?

Lama glama
08:58 / 18.10.06
Thank goodness that his lustrous locks survived the scalpel of the Sycorax, eh Kali?

On a more on-topic note, tonight on the Colin Murray Show which starts at 10:30pm on Radio 1, there's apparently going to be a piece on Torchwood presented by Eve Myles. Might be worth tuning in on the internet, for those outside the UK interested in hearing it.

09:32 / 18.10.06
I am a bit annoyed that Radio Times saw fit to spoil something that took me two watches of ep2 to work out.
Head might have been better: "This is a fighting head!" [Blackburn Kiss]

adamswish
10:52 / 18.10.06
but to be fair cube you have seen both episodes a good few days before the rest of us (personally I'm going to have to wait until Wednesday of next week unless I can convince my girlfriend I have to go home sunday for something really important) so my sympathy is slightly lacking for you mate.

11:44 / 18.10.06
my sympathy is slightly lacking for you mate.

Yeah, I know. The curse of being a smug bastard returns to bit me on the bum once more.

Kali, Queen of Kitteh
13:03 / 18.10.06
Kinda creepy that Torchwood has the Doctor's hand. Begs the question: how did they acquire it?

Triplets
17:19 / 18.10.06
Lost and Found?

It fell off the ship, innit.

Kali, Queen of Kitteh
17:37 / 18.10.06
I suppose it must have. But that's one hell of a system: "Found a disembodied hand? Please place in post to this address."

Triplets
18:21 / 18.10.06
Fanwank: Someone handed (oh ho) it into the police, when they tried to do a DNA match it flagged the police's Torchwood spyware. Agents alerted. Hand retrieved. But that's boring.

We could have a pulpy episode where Our Agents delve into London's E.T. underground where alien tech and body bits are bought and sold like dodgy dvd players. Soon they come under the vile scrutiny of Faceless Sultan.

THE CASE OF THE MYSTERY, PART 3 (OF 1)!

Oh great, now we have a hand of glory in the Torchwood Dr Who universe...

Kali, Queen of Kitteh
19:06 / 18.10.06
Hey, at least the Hand of Glory is the Doctor's. That's gotta count for some serious mojo.

Kali, Queen of Kitteh
19:48 / 19.10.06

Aw, fancy Doctor and Martha.

Or just fancy Martha.

Whisky Priestess
09:13 / 20.10.06
She looks unbelievably stiff and uncomfortable in that picture. What is it, a Vogue shoot?

Rev. Orr
13:49 / 21.10.06
No, she's just sat down on the Doctor's hand.

Just please tell me that it isn't animated and running around the lab a la 'thing' or 'The Evil Dead'. On the other hand, the second season cross-over where Ten and the hand end end drowning their sorrows in tequila shots and flashing back to temps perdu will rock mightily.

Kali, Queen of Kitteh
14:35 / 21.10.06
Torchwood is probably experimenting with its regenerative properties so it stands to reason that it's in a vat of some sort filled with a fluorescent viscous fluid.

Lama glama
17:27 / 21.10.06
Surely their experiments with the regenerative properties of the hand will be fruitless. All of the regeneration energy wears off after the first few hours, after all. It's now an ex-hand. It has ceased to be, etc etc.

The hype for this is starting to become ridiculous. BBC News are even giving it spots on their 24 hour news Network, continuing the questionable trend where they use their news broadcasts as advertisements for other BBC products.

Not that I mind the hype when it's related to Doctor Who.

Our Lady Has Left the Building
18:01 / 21.10.06
I should point out to anyone who hasn't noticed aready there's a 'Torchwood De-Classified' which looks a bit like it might be a 'Doctor Who Confidential' after the late night repeats.

sleazenation
19:10 / 21.10.06
I can top that - I was at the cinema the other day and amongst the adverts was a trailer for Torchwood, so even before the first episode has even hit, I got to see Torchwood on the silver screen...

Feverfew
21:24 / 21.10.06
Same here with the silver screen.

There was an interview on the Jonathan Ross Radio 2 show today that I happened to catch, which was notable for it's discussion of, firstly, bi/omni-sexuality (although you can guess what that was like with Ross), and, interestingly, Ross posited the idea that RTD may have named Captain Jack Harkness after (or after the fashion of) Agatha Harkness, late of the Fantastic Four, and tutor (I believe) to Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch.

Your Man Himself wouldn't be drawn, but did say there's an origin episode for him in the Torchwood run (they're filming the final two at the moment, apparently) but, well, interesting?

14:07 / 08.11.06
Oh, gosh. Hire PJ Hammond as the full-time writer, quick, and ditch the entire crew except Jack right now. They are officially superfluous.

Gwen's already got off with two people this season behind her boyfriend's back, so ... nothing kinda ooh there, really.

Actually, this didn't make me want more Torchwood, it makes me want to see more Sapphire and Steel.
