The Radio Times said a couple of weeks ago that a large coral paperweight is in fact Jack's attempt to grow a TARDIS, so despite the fanwankery, you may be on to something, there. There is also a sequence of the next ep which really screws with the continuity we thought we had, so even the OMG LOL MASTER!!23! theory you mentioned in the other place might even have something to it.
