Man. The favorite (Barbaro), who won the Kentucky Derby by 6 1/2 lengths (i.e., a lot), broke his leg 10 seconds into the Preakness today. The Preakness is the second race of the Triple Crown (Derby, Preakness, Belmont), and anyone who wins gets some big prize. I think a million dollars.

Noone's done it since the seventies, we're in the longest drought without a triple crown winner ever, and people really thought Barbaro was going to do it. Enough that, for every dollar you bet on him today, you only stood to win back fifty cents.

Ganesh was sound asleep and snoring loudly on the bathroom floor. I have guided him to bed and now am horizontal and lying in the comforting darkness, catching up on podcasts. I haven't had a fag for several months but could use one right now. But I'd have to get up and get dressed and go to the all night garage. And I can't be bothered so I guess I'm cured, at last.
