So that guy out of hackers won. Who'd have thought it.

Ganesh's views on Pete's victory are so conflicting with Richard's opinion of the same, that when I read them I moved to New York and worked as a go-go dance for several years, formed a flamboyant electropop group with a female female impersonator and a bear, got a gig supporting the Scissor Sisters, waited until they were performing their opening number, ran onto the stage, pulled down my trrrooouuusers and pants, waved my tumescent dinkle at the audience like it was a microphone, and shouted:

"Laaaaads, who feels like dancing yes sir some dancing today?"

By the time they'd finished with it, it was comfortably numb.

This could be the very minute
I'm aware I'm alive
All these places feel like home

- I'm feeling a bit apprehensive...

- Still no knife-fights then...

- OH NO, stop me! I don't want to enter the gates of addiction city agggaaaiinnn!

With a name I'd never chosen
I can make my first steps
As a child of 25

- In about 3 years time it will essentially be an oiled tight-rope over a vat of knives and shit.
With a jacuzzi.

- Oh, this is wrong. I'm getting excited...

This is the straw, final straw in the
Roof of my mouth as I lie to you
Just because I'm sorry doesn't mean
I didn't enjoy it at the time

- Could they really have gone for a real live Tourettes sufferer? I mean really?

- Oh, god. Tourette's is wacky. Out!

Is anyone watching The X-Factor this year?

Argh missed final evening. I liked everyone left in at the end.

Would have been annoyed if Nikki had won although she was fantastic. Didn't really get to see her after she was parachuted back in. Kind of annoyed by that though. Too forced.

Glad for Pete. He is really, genuinely nice and I'm happy that he won.

Really enjoyed Big Brother this year. Loved the way Glyn came more and more out of his shell. What a journey!

Also, Mikey and Grace's love was def for real. People are really cynical but you could see the way they looked at each other. He is her "One" and he is her "One", too.

Same goes for Pete and Nikki. Can't wait to see how their love develops. Friends say they've never seen him so caring with a girl. Her nan testified the same.

He's a genuinely great guy. Anyone who can't see it ~ get a life! And she provided all the classic DR moments this year. I'm still smiling at some of them. I'm so cooo-ooo-oold! Cracks me up.

Glyn was a boy when he went in. He's an old man now. Such an amazing privilege to watch him.

I'll be back with my column on the lives of the BB7 Superstars AFTER the House, next week!

Does the ending of the series ALWAYS bring on this deeply sad feeling of emptiness?

Shrug
19:59 / 19.08.06
I get that about week 7 but then they do the TWIST!!!11!!
You could always read the Heat articles? The story of Pete and Nikki's burgeoning love affair will make cold turkey so much easier!

The Falcon
20:34 / 19.08.06
It doesn't though, Shrug. It doesn't. I hate them all as soon as they exit the hallowed portal. (Except Richard and Aisleyne, but I'll doubtless be hating them soon enough, especially if E4 does another 'BB:What They Did Next' series.)

Had to suppress a massive blub at Richard's crying moments on the end titles. I was quite drunk, but still >>choke<<. He was my favourite, in the end.

That's kind of what I meant, Falconer, except it came out all wrong.

Buk, don't take this amiss, but I think these opinions:

Wold have been annoyed if Nikki had won although she was fantastic.... Glad for Pete. He is really, genuinely nice and I'm happy that he won.

...Are kind of the result of this:

Didn't really get to see her after she was parachured back in.

If you'd seen more of the last week, I think - hope - you might feel a little differently about Pete & Nikki.

Yeah, I saw more than enough to return to my initial 'worse than Hitler' diagnosis. As for Pete...

Well, actually, I'd quite like to see 'what they did next' to see the Nikster meeting up with Pete's Brighton set, including the odious, odious Wobbly Bob himself (formerly lead guitarist in Wobble, Jiggle, Jaggle, Bobble or whatever it was, and - yes - I am judging on 15 seconds of vt from BBLB) and run screaming. I'd also like to hear Daddy Fantastic, if only to confirm my suspicions they will be a truly grotesque melange of Madness, The Levellers and Ozric Tentacles, the latter pair being two of the worst bands in history.

If you've never seen this then you are truly a real life soothsayer with premonition from beyond the stars...

Can we all talk more about how great the last BBBM was please? Russell bouncing on pure end-of-term energy and swearing more than usual; insulting housemates all over the place; "Come on, Vogue"; ballbag/dinkle montages and the mighty Paul Morley. The actual finale might have been a bit of an anticlimax, but surely that was the real payoff...?

I watched just over a minute of that and found myself becoming so enervated that I had to turn it off.

Miss wonderstarr, can I have your babies?

In my post above I'm referring to the Youtube video, not to BBBM, which I watched for probably only the second time. I can almost see the appeal of Russell Brand now.

I'm surprisingly shocked to discover that Pete cannot sing. He is the lead "talker" of Daddy Fantastic.

They will probably have as many hits as Chico and the Chicettes.

h1ppych1ck- I, too have been on something of a j**rn*y as regards Mr Brand. I started the show despising him... now, well, I wouldn't quite say I liked him, but I'm missing him already.

Can't think wankers why the BBLB wrap show miaow wasn't shown live wankyfuck this afternoon.

What are Shabazz and George doing there, apart from some (unlikely) aggressive spooning in the diary room?

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK

I discovered the perfect cure for my post-BB withdrawals. I went to see A Scanner Darkly. Similar situation in many ways, but the people in ASD were a lot less fucked-up.

However, this meant I missed the barbecue. Was it good? Is this what's being shown on BBLB on E4 at midnight?

Mike Modular
21:44 / 20.08.06
It is. I'm waiting for it myself, having countered withdrawals today via a bouncy castle and booze. Going to see ASD might have been a less exhausting option...

I'M NOT FEELING THE HATE FOR THE PEOPLE I HATE ANYMORE!!!

Where has the hate gone, Barbelith?

They've somehow stopped being physical representations of abstract concepts now. It's like playing chess on acid and coming down half-way through the game. "They're just wooden horses and stuff... when did THAT happen?"

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
22:37 / 20.08.06
Ooh, Dermot, you fucker. The girl's dead chuffed about coming third and you start going "do you think you did so well because people felt sorry for you?"

Tryphena Absent
23:09 / 20.08.06
Oh cme on Stoat, you must still hate 'Pete.'

More now, I'd have thought, than ever before.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
23:22 / 20.08.06
Okay, I posted that before I saw his interview.

Wooden horses can still be irritating. That's what I'VE taken away from this year's Big Brother experience.

Davina could see how nervous Aisleyne was, and she still played up the BS line about it being a surprise that Ais was in the last three (it wasn't). Urgh. Ais seems to be bizarrely self-apologetic on eviction nights. I liked the moment when, on an otherwise dull final BBLB Dermot asked if she had made frinds with Grace. For all the self-doubt, she just stared back at him and said "No". You better know yourself, Dermot...

'WOW!
I'm Da-ddy Fan-tas-tic
And my pants are *WANKERS* made of el-as-tic
MIAOW,' etc

It now seems pretty clear that Spoiral was the one with the ear for mewsic, all along.
