Sounds like me. I spend a lot of time telling possible employers "No, really, I can learn this in a week, I swear! I'm very adaptable!" And I am! But, if I get hired, they always act all surprised when I become competent quickly, like they expected me to fail from the beginning, and they only hired me out of pity, like I was a one-armed, one-eyed leper or something, and they felt obligated to give me a chance before they hired me.
