I monitor newspapers for a living- they print them at about 10:30-11pm, and we get all the press packs and shit sorted in time for our clients to turn up at work in the morning.

I just moved to a new town, which I love, and I thought I had a handle on a sweet new bartending gig, but then they dropped this bomb: "Oh, you'll also have to work the juice bar in the morning, be here at 8AM." Are you fucking kidding me? You want me to show up at 8, leave at 12, and then come back to man the bar at night? What kind of stupid fucking schedule is that? No wonder you seemed desperate for a bartender, you jackasses!

Sounds like me. I spend a lot of time telling possible employers "No, really, I can learn this in a week, I swear! I'm very adaptable!" And I am! But, if I get hired, they always act all surprised when I become competent quickly, like they expected me to fail from the beginning, and they only hired me out of pity, like I was a one-armed, one-eyed leper or something, and they felt obligated to give me a chance before they hired me.
