I'm glad to see precautions are being taken, though.

Last Summer I was wowed by a Real Live Elephant!!! (tm) passing by/and filling the doorway of my workplace. For this I was unprepared, I thought I was having a psychotic episode. Llamas apparently weaving through traffic on the main street too. (but I missed that).
That one looks equally cool. Wow.

alas
00:37 / 08.05.06
Having fucked Woe (in full scuba gear), I'd like to announce that we are now in an exclusive, monogamous relationship. Woe is not me, exactly, but, is, now, my Significant Other. (It's like we were made for each other.)

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK

Whoah.

alas
00:44 / 08.05.06
Speaking of Whoah--have you ever hit "reload" and had the barbelith page (this very one in fact) change to a totally different font--about a 16 point Times Roman, say? That just happened to me.

You sound totally different in Times Roman, Stoatie.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
00:46 / 08.05.06
I have... I thought it was just me.

I may start speaking in Times Roman. Only I will know, but it will make me feel all important and cool.

Suedey! SHOT FOR MEAT!
00:59 / 08.05.06
Good Lord, I go away for a second and suddenly everybody is talking in Times Roman and... well, I presume still fucking woe, but also engaging in monogomous relationships with... them... is it a him or a her? I don't wish to appear rude.

alas
00:59 / 08.05.06
Ah, but I love your whole sans serif dialect! It just won't be the same! Besides, like every newspaper is Times Roman--you don't want to go that new journalism route. What about Garamond? For my sake? Or maybe Baskerville Old Face?

(I guess I'm assuming the same font options come with British versions of Word...)

Suedey! SHOT FOR MEAT!
01:01 / 08.05.06
Just please don't start talking in that generic comic font that every program ever seems to have.

It makes me cry.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
01:01 / 08.05.06
I may actually change my name to Baskerville Oldface.

Suedey! SHOT FOR MEAT!
01:03 / 08.05.06
Is there a Baskerville Otterface?

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
01:03 / 08.05.06
There bloody well should be.

The Return Of Rothkoid
01:04 / 08.05.06
I am currently writing up contributors' details for work. And feeling very jealous that I missed out on some mechanical elephant action.

Evening all. My sugar pains have dissipated, and I can't draw a suitable helmet for Orion if my life depended on it.

Are we choosing typefaces for our posts now?

alas
01:22 / 08.05.06
(Woe, FYI, is in a bit of a gender crisis at the moment and prefers not to talk about it. So we're avoiding singular third-person pronouns altogether at present.)

Bauhaus 93 always looks like it might be cool, but then disappoints. Sigh.

Agreed about the Otterface. But then I'm the type of person who always tries to turn the ottercheek...

[I'd like to take advantage of this pause in the conversation to say how squuueeeee I'm feeling to be back in the lateshift again! Out where a friend is a friend! Where the mechanical elephants feed on the lowly lateshift weed! Back in the lateshift again!]

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
01:28 / 08.05.06
Bauhaus 93 sounds like the apocalyptic folk/glam goth crossover band of my dreams.

Jack Denfeld
01:33 / 08.05.06
Denfeld in the mizzyfizzy hizzzzzzouse.

alas
01:34 / 08.05.06
You should try looking at some Bernard MT Condensed on lowly lateshift weed, man. It'll blow your mind. Or your mink.

(As long as it doesn't blow Woe. Remember, Woe is mine.)

Aertho
01:37 / 08.05.06
Welcome Denfeld, welcome back alas!

Jack Denfeld
01:39 / 08.05.06
Super tired. What are y'all up to?

alas
01:41 / 08.05.06
Hey Denfield, hey Cassandra. Is the lateshift a house? I'm in something of a don't-fence-me-in mode, so I'm thinking more a vast prairie, an endless steppe, the broad African savanna...Perhaps not as easy to shizzle, however.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
01:41 / 08.05.06
Stuff's good, except for missing the mechanical elephant joy. In approximately two hours I'm off work for a week!

alas
01:47 / 08.05.06
Woop! for getting off work.

I'm making yogurt. I have never attempted this at home. I am a little worried that I needn't have warmed the milk first (the recipe I have in a book said to, but then I googled and found different directions), and concerned, in fact, that I in fact warmed it a little too high. Which will, I'm told, kill the yogurt cultures. Well, I guess I'll know in about 8 hours....I may just have funky curdly milk.

The Return Of Rothkoid
01:50 / 08.05.06
Two words: Budmo Jiggler.

alas
01:51 / 08.05.06
Is that some kind of yogurt thickener, Rothkoid?

The Return Of Rothkoid
01:59 / 08.05.06
It's not just a font. It's a razzle-dazzle way of life.

Foxy Tariq Aziz, eh? Hmm. Better than standard copy, I spose.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
02:16 / 08.05.06
Okay, now I'm thinking of changing my name to Budmo Jiggler.

I like Pink Martini. It has a fabulous fifties flavor.

How's everybody tonight?

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK

Gooood.

Hi Jake. Just caught the Phils winning another one.

02:26 / 08.05.06
I'm fine, but fading! I think I must make my way to bed before everything starts coming out wingdings. Good night peeeeeple.

The Return Of Rothkoid
02:31 / 08.05.06
I'm good, but sad that Grant McLennan from the Go-Betweens died on the weekend. Friends of mine were on their way over to his for a BBQ when they heard... bad times.

Jake, Colossus of Clout
02:31 / 08.05.06
Sleep tight, alas!

Bryan- How about that Chase Utley fellow? Carried my fantasy team this week, he did. Some scallywag tried to make a Gary Sheffield and Jeff Kent for Jason Bay and Chase Utley trade this week, the rotter! No, says I...

Dude kicks ass. I want him on the Red Sox.
