An unconventional way i relate to this is in the popular 7 chakras way, which also corresponds with some kabbalah that is body based.
So for me the whole hexagram is the anahata, heart chakra, represented by the hexagram, the 6 surrounding planets are the values to be drawn into the heart, the two triangles male and female in union, the product of the union, the heart opening to the world. daat becomes the throat chakra the constant chatter of the abyss to be crossed, yet also the container of wisdom, to reach ajna, third eye, the combination of binah and chokmah, wisdom and understanding.
I know its highly eclectic, but i find the direct body references, ie touching the heart of forehead give far better recognition than intellectual knowledge without application.
The little i learnt about tantra has better informed me about kabbalah to some degree.
I find the same with the elements, each digit on each hand becomes an element, each hand and foot a pentagram, i am carrying four protective pentagrams, i can create different connections by touching toes and fingers together, bringing different elements together in differing locales.
The five senses become a fifth pentagram, by relating a sense to digits i can further reinforce the intent of a locale and position.
The idea of placing macrocosmic information in the microcosm of the body then serves to create a direct link between body and soul, neither negated for the other. neither neither if you like.
The hexagram becomes the ritual of self, walking, breathing, talking magic interacting with the magic of the greater body of god. |
