Holy God, when oh when shall we get to know a little bit more about The Indestructible Man ?!?

Last I heard The Indestructible Man was a victim of the flailing dollar, and not financially doable for Quitely. I thought the economy was trouble before, but now that it's depriving us of new Morrison/Quitely, somebody's really got to get on it.

or the duo not signing another exclusive to DC and getting books out from european publishers. it'd be very fitting with FQ's style anyway.

There's another interview w/GM I have; haven't posted the info due to a convoluted move and extreme procrastination in unpacking certain boxes . . .

There was a short-lived mag published in 1999 called SUBmedia; the first issue features an interview w/GM entitled "Tantripostmodillusionist-or-bullshit artist!: Grant Morrison." Good stuff about Invisibles, Doom Patrol, Animal Man and JLA. The mag also has a piece on Doom Patrol by Steven Shaviro.

I haven't yet the capability to scan the articles, and it's rather difficult to read (a magnifying glass would help), but hope to in the near future.

On Batman

On Final Crisis

Short video interview from the Scottish Style Awards.

I also came across GM's and Kristan's appearance in
Carnival Sun. GM is the drag queen at the start of part 2 (he spoke about the filming of this here).

ALL STAR GRANT MORRISON I: Final Crisis @ CBR

With the who's who of sequential art descending upon the Big Apple this weekend for New York Comic Con, CBR News tracked down one of the event's guests of honor, Grant Morrison, to discuss the superstar writer's work at DC Comics and to help fans get geared up for all of the weekend's fun and festivities.

We begin our three-part presentation of ALL STAR GRANT MORRISON with a conversation about "Final Crisis," and follow-up tomorrow with a discussion of "Batman" and "All Star Superman" and a little "Seaguy" on Thursday.

That cover for FC#3 is pure horrorshow. Really frightening stuff. Actually, 2's is pretty grim, too. There's something about that huge Kirby machinery and Batman trapped within it that really freaks me out.

Yeah, it's very Giger the Batman one. I think it's because, normally, Kirbytech is rendered as quite shiny and Star Treky, but here it's pitted, coarse (almost rusty) and green-lit. It's even worse considering Batman looks like he's being injected with something. The whole thing looks like a 308th century iron maiden. Nasty Kirby-biomachinery.

I didn't know where exactly to put this, but it seems appropriate in this thread, as it'll probably generate at least an interview - if not a transcript of the panel itself. those attending NYCC 08, take note:

Friday, 4/18 6pm - 7pm Room 1E15: “INDIA’S EDGE is India’s Fantasy - Shakti”

Join legendary comic author Grant Morrison (Batman: Arkham Asylum, Doom Patrol, The Invisibles) as he exposes the Indian influences in his work and introduces his new animated project with Virgin Comics. Joining Grant is Virgin’s Chief Creative Officer Gotham Chopra and Sharad Devarajan, Virgin Comics CEO, as they discuss their line of Indian-infused fantasy comics called SHAKTI (including Ramayan 3392AD Reloaded, Devi, Deepak Chopra’s Buddha, Project: Kalki and others). Pronounced shuk-TEE, an ancient Sanskrit word meaning Power, these comics tap into thousands of years of storytelling, folklore and mythology.

in the same room, afterwards, you'll get blown [away] by Jenna Jameson.

i'm working my way through all those podcasts from the bottom to the top and man, that Wildstorm one sounds dismal. Didio in the DCU panels is a very lively host, on the other hand, keeping the energy up.

what's wrong with a three-button suit? Morrison has always made a thing out of his fashion style (only appearing in suits in public for the most part, it seems)...

At the DC panel where Morrison spoke, he often made very silly jokes, as when one fan asked if Dick Grayson would be in his BATMAN run. Grant responded, "He's in the next issue, I believe... [then talked a tiny bit about it] ... so you'll soon have plenty of 'Dick' in your Batman!" and then went into a brief giggling, sniggering fit. (I'm not making this up, either - it was then that I was reminded of the 'dirty-joke telling Scotsman' persona he has that he doesn't bring up all that often.) I note that this particular anecdote didn't make it into any of the recaps online.
